Sportsbook is known for having excellent customer service. They have a very good history as a reputable site and offer lots of bonuses and promotions. They have been named "The Best US Sports Book" by the online gaming industry (eGaming Review) twice. Funds can be used at the sports book, casino, and poker tables from one account.
It can seem like a lot of "clicks" to place a bet sometimes, but I'm sure they would say that was for the user's protection from placing an accidental bet. Not too many cons at this site.
Sportsbook.com Review
Please visit the
Sportsbook Signup Guide for an in-depth walk through to depositing and betting on sportsbook.com.
Sportsbook.com is an independent site that has been around since 1996. They are one of the most trusted sports books on the net and are by far the largest accepting US customers. Customer service is an important feature of this site, with someone being available 24 hours a day, either by email, phone, or live chat. Sportsbook.com offers a wide array of sports and entertainment events to wager on and many different options for all styles of betting.
One thing that many customers of
Sportsbook.com like is the ability to use their sports wagering account at their partner sites, such as the Sportsbook.com casino or poker room. For instance you can take your winnings from Sunday night and play a little Black Jack or maybe some poker before you decide who to pick for Monday Night Football.
Sportsbook.com Website/Software
Sportsbook.com's website is laid out quite nicely and most things are easy to find and simple to use. They even have a small video tutorial (hosted by Nikki Cox) showing how to do basic tasks like open an account, make a deposit, and place bets. They really seem to try to make it simple, whether you are a seasoned sports bettor or have never wagered on a game before.
From the home page you can read sports news, check the current odds and lines, do research on betting such as trends and angles, and find links to all the information you could need to know about Sportsbook.com.
Once you log-in with your username and password, you will have all of your options available to you from the main page. Here you can make a deposit or request a withdrawal, view your account (including wagering history), or choose which sport you would like to bet on. As you mouse over each sport you will see several other sub-categories pop up from which you will choose. For instance, as you place your mouse over "Basketball," you will see the options of NBA, Big Game (such as Mavs vs Spurs), NCAA Futures, NCAA Hoops, NBA Futures, Cross-Sport Propositions, and Parlays and Teasers. As you scroll your mouse down over each sub-category, you will see even more options, such as NBA Lines, 1st Half Lines, Halftime Lines, 1st Quarter Lines, etc. Again, you have plenty of options, but they make it clear and easy to use.
Bets are placed by simply choosing the type of bet you want to make, such as straight wager, then typing in the amount you want to bet. You must also check the appropriate box and click "place bet." From there a ticket is opened on the left side of the screen. Your bet is not placed until you click in the confirmation box and press submit. Once you submit the confirmation, your bet is final and cannot be changed.

Sportsbook.com Sports Offered
Sportsbook.com offers a very wide array of sports and events that you can bet on. This of course includes all those that you would expect, such as NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and NCAA Football and Basketball. They also offer Nascar Racing, Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing, Tennis, Golf, and Soccer, including North American and European leagues as well as events such as the World Cup.
For those looking to wager on things other than sports they offer an "entertainment" section, where you can bet on different events, depending on the time of year and what is going on. They always have some reality show type of events that they offer bets for, such as American Idol and Survivor. You can even bet on the US elections coming in 2012, either on a specific person to be elected, party to win, or party nominee. Also, they have recently added a Horse Racing section where you can bet on horses from tracks around the United States.
Sportsbook.com Variety of Wagers
There are a wide variety of wagers available at Sportsbook.com. The main types of bets here are a straight bet, a parlay, a round robin (a series of parlays), and a teaser. You can also place over/under bets and future bets, like who will win next year's Super Bowl. Of course you can get creative at Sportsbook if you wish and make a variety of prop bets, like which team will score the first bucket or who will shoot the most free-throws.
Sportsbook.com Juice Details
The typical juice at
Sportsbook.com is 10%. However, every Friday they offer a 1/2 price sale on all bets during the regular season, so the juice is only 5%. Pre-season, playoff and finals games are excluded from the Friday 1/2 price promotion.
Sportsbook.com Bonus and Promotions
The new account bonus offered by Sportsbook.com is 10% of your first deposit. In order to claim the full deposit you must have sports betting activity equal to 2x the total sum of your deposit plus the bonus. For instance, if you deposit $500, you receive a bonus of $50. In order to be able to claim the $50 you must wager at least $1,100 by betting on sports. If you withdraw before "clearing" the bonus, your bonus will be reduced by an equal percentage. So say again you deposit $500 and receive a $50 bonus, then withdraw $250. Your bonus will be reduced to $25.
Also, be wary of using the bonus to bet and then attempting to withdraw. According to the "House Rules" on the site, "Members must play their own money in order to earn a bonus. If you deposit, receive a bonus and then withdraw the amount of the deposit without risking your own funds, we will deduct both the bonus and the winnings."
They also occasionally offer re-deposit bonuses and other promotions throughout the year. For instance right now (early spring) they are running an Opening Day Double Play promotion related to betting on spring training baseball games.
Sportsbook.com Customer Service
As stated earlier,
Sportsbook.com is proud of their reputation for good customer service. Most of your questions could probably be answered by looking through the Help and FAQ sections of the site. However, when you do have additional questions or problems, emails are typically answered within a few hours. They also have live chat available, which is a great option to get immediate answers to your questions. You can also call and talk to their great customer service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They do not accept sports wagers over the phone, but they can help with deposits and most any other questions that may arise.
