ya glad you like it. I've always been a fan of his early jazz stuff (and his work with Brian Jackson), but i just heard the small talk album within the last month or so. I've been hyper-listening to it a lot during that time. Definately some powerful stuff. Another group that you would probably also like is the Last Poets.
fancy, thanks for the gil-scott heron recommendation. it's really deep stuff, i'm really enjoying 125th so far, i have a feeling it will take a few listens-through before i can get a good hold on it. from what i've been reading it sounds like he really blazed the trail for hip-hop, i'm always down for some hip-hop history.
