Default WSOP 2009

Don't know how many poker players are on these boards (I know that bjjs and Thriller play) but I figure that I'd throw this out there since I haven't seen anyone talk about it....

The "November 9" final table happened a few weeks ago (final table of the World Series of Poker) and it actually featured 2 very well known players for a change... Phil Ivey and Jeff Shulman. Unfortunately neither of them made it very far.

A 21-yr old kid ended up winning it and re-writing the record that was just broken last year by Peter Eastgate for Youngest winner ever at the event.

I was kind of disappointed with most of the play that I saw TBH. I thought that the french dude (Saout?) got absolutely ROBBED though (so did Shulman).

I guess that it's true what they say.... when it comes to the WSOP it's better to be lucky than to be good.

I play poker but I didn't watch this. I watch poker at random times, usually late at night

I think it is pretty safe to say that you cannot win at poker without having SOME luck on your side.

Oh there's no doubt about that.... but there are people who just go on INSANE runs in these things. Pick up hand after hand and then even when they're beat (or make horrible plays) they suck out on you.

I know that luck is a big factor.... because I still remember that you had NONE whenever we used to play hahaaha...

YEa I agree there is a lot of luck. Especially since you don't know what card is going to come up or what the other person had. I was watching Poer like last week. Two guys went ALL-IN and one guy undoubtably had the better hand(forgot what is was)I think a one pair. The other guy had high card then the river card made the second guy have a pair and win the whole thing. All luck I must say

I agree alot of poker is loads of luck. However; you still godda know what your doing and win a few hands where you shouldn't. As you can see this year only one pro (phil ivey) made the final table.

I know streaks rule. I play poker occastionally and I love it when I hit a streak. Sometimes its the only way you can win a big tourney.
