I think what the old guys are trying to say is to try to relax and enjoy this time..it IS short and there will always be tough things to deal with...try not to let it bowl you over, be strong and move forward.

Every generation thinks there's is the toughest and they're right in a way. Each has their own challenges which relatively speaking are as meaningful as anyone else's, but teh thing we all have in common is how we deal with those challenges.

Good luck.

To all the older members: you're right we're just teenagers. But in a few years, this teenager will get slapped with the realities of life. Let's be honest, unless you become really successful in life or something, your early years are the most relaxing.

Retirement is probably the next stage when you really get to relax again (again, no guarantees that you'll make it there). Is it really going to be the same as before, with an aging body?

"It's going to get much worse." We know, that's why we're worrying.
If you value free time enough you will get it. It might wax and wane, but a balance won't be too hard to find if you make it a real focus. If you decide money is more important, then enjoy your time making money. That's something that happens with people who become successful - not a lot of them end up relaxing, they stick with what they are good at.

My early years were quite frustrating. Way too much energy and a whirlwind of choices and questions. I wouldn't go back to being 16 for a second. It's like a kind of madness, and you're institutionalized to boot. So - I would suggest that it is not going to get worse necessarily at all. If you move forward thinking that way then it likely will turn out to be so. Reacting to those kinds of fears is not a good idea. I would suggest that as we get older we get a better sense of who we are and have more control over stuff that makes that pay off. But not if we're too busy trying not to get stuck in shit we fear we'll be forced into, and panicking about time running out.

Life is short. Panicking over life's brevity will have you missing all that gets jammed into that little flash. Make slowness your friend.

Over the beginning of last summer I had a lot of time on my hands being unemployed and all, and one day it just hit me that I will die one day, and at best that day is 60 years away. It was terrifying, and it was on my mind for a few months until finally I concluded that it's okay to be scared. Whenever similar thoughts come into my mind now, very infrequently, I just tell myself that death happens to everyone, and no one can do anything about it. However, if you're worried about the stress that comes with being older and having more responsibilities, you'll soon realize that with these responsibilities comes way more freedom, and people start treating you like an adult. I love being 19, and would take it over being 5, 10, or 15. And I'm also sure that, for me, being 30 would be better than being 20, and so on.

I started getting this feeling last year because I didn't really know my future and had no goals. Now my future is set and I know my goals and I'm not too far from accomplishing them. Seriously though, you need to make some more friends.

complaining about stress & pressure at 16 is insane...your going to highschool, it means fuck all, looking back at it, nothing i did in highschool was important...it was stupid & fun, go out, enjoy it...

although, time does go by super fast, like highschool went by like a breeze, and now university is flying by...life is getting serious...for me anyways... its kinda crazy...

i'd say my biggest regret in life is not smoking weed until i went away to school. i should have been stoned all the way through high school.

i'm actually really upset about it.
