Common Coltrane, Bob dylan himself said he wouldnt play the song again in the sameway after hearing Hendrix version. Greatest lyricist of all time for sure though IMO.

.

Acie 01-31-2008 10:45 AM

While I love Dylan, 10 out of 10 times I'll go with the guy who took a three chord folk song and turned into a slice of sonic heaven. Not only did he play the slide with a BIC lighter he laid down a super-kick ass bassline.

karma police

Radiohead

panic at the disco

I swear that if someone says the second one, Ill get a plane to Canada right now and Ill burn his home.

Dr. J. Naismith 01-31-2008 12:55 PM

Panic at the Disco are a joke. Of course it would be Radiohead.

If any of you guys have heard of the EasyStar All-Stars, they do full length dub/reggae (and sometimes ska) covers of great albums and it's fantastic stuff. Anyway, they did "RadioDREAD" a full length cover of OK Computer, it's a personal favourite. They also did "DUB Side of the Moon", of course, a full length cover of Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon". Anyone wants to spark, listen to this and watch the Raps, lemme know.

Belsius 02-02-2008 07:26 AM

I have heard about that Ok computer cover, but never actually listened to it. There are so many OK computer versions. Ill check that one out.
Wow pretty good, I love that song so much, favourite album ever.

Another brick in the wall

Pink floyd

Korn

Ok korn has no chance, specially the solo, but is not bad at all.

Belsius 02-11-2008 12:18 AM

Now a difficult one. Little wing by Jimmi hendrix

jimmi Hendrix

Stevie Ray Vaughn

Monte Montgomery

G3

I go with Stevies, G3 one is terrible.

That's a tough one. As much as I like Jimi's, I get so much joy out of watching Stevie's precision and sense of rhythm.

Acie 02-11-2008 09:23 AM

Stevie's is better. You can hear the amp humming for chrissakes. It's like you're in the room with him.

Belsius 02-11-2008 09:27 AM

Yeah, its a tough one, my two favourite guitar players, but Stevie took the song to the next level.

Belsius 02-11-2008 09:32 AM

The tone he gets from that guitar with those 0.13s strings is amazing, so thick.

Aar_Canada 02-11-2008 10:55 AM

The first time I heard Stevie's version was at Acie's place when I was 16. It was LOUD and awesome.

Acie 02-11-2008 11:03 AM

Was that the John Pinesol version or the SRV version? :haha:

I've still got that CD. We'll have to crank it up again soon for old times sake.

Belsius 02-11-2008 04:28 PM

nobody said what version of Another brick in the wall they prefered. BTW, ACIE and AAR, are you friends, cousins, brothers, boyfriends? just curious.
