I think this was brought up in another thread
is Toronto really that bad ass? I better start driving around, cause I never see this stuff

Quote:
Is Bosh a homeless man’s Dirk Nowitzki, a perimeter big man who put up inflated scoring and rebounding numbers because when visiting NBA players cross the Canadian border they put far more effort into acquiring condoms, loonies and a strip-club champagne room than their on-court assignments?

On the NBA circuit, Toronto is White Vegas, where jungle fever is celebrated by local strippers and escorts 41 times a year. Toronto is a great city to put up numbers and build a rep.

We’ll get to Bosh’s suitability for the Heat in a moment. First, White Vegas. Whitlock, a most talented provocateur, says the line about Toronto’s nightlife inflating Bosh’s numbers was a bit of a joke, which is good, since one former NBA player who played in Toronto said, “I think that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”

Raptors guard Jarrett Jack, when informed of the notion, similarly arched an eyebrow and said, “Some people are stupid, man. Like really? Really? That’s why he was good, because of strip clubs? There aren’t strip clubs in Miami, there aren’t strip clubs in L.A., there aren’t strip clubs everywhere else? I haven’t been to any of the strip clubs here, so they can’t be that damn good.”

Whitlock was right in some ways — many NBA players deeply appreciate Toronto’s ladies, professional and amateur alike. When one particularly profligate Raptor left town, the staff in the Brass Rail VIP room practically held a wake.

But the nightlife here doesn’t make individual Raptors better; it only occasionally makes other teams worse. The early-afternoon Sunday games, after the other team has spent a Saturday night in Toronto, for instance. One time a veteran team was in town and the scoreboard temporarily misplaced a point; later in the game, after the mistake was corrected, the sluggish visitors fell behind by 25. A team official for the road team said, “I found where that missing point went, and all the other ones as well. We left them in the club last night.”

“That’s when we beat great teams. Those games were good not just because of the partying, but the Raptors play those games all year long,” the former-NBA player said. “Other teams didn’t. Saturday nights you stayed in because you knew you had that game.”
