Burrell was the greatest though. could play any style. the most elegant and the funkiest guitarist ever, at one and the same time. Duke Ellington's favourite. If I could play like anybody it would be kenny, no doubt.

I dont know, it depends on what style. You can be the best with one style, but not with two for me.

IMO the best in each style:
Rock - Hendrix no doubt
Blues - SRV no doubt
Jazz - This is tough, I would go with Stanley Jordan, john mclaughlin or Mike Stern but they are not pure jazz guitarist. Probaly wes montgomery then.
Flamenco - Paco de Lucia, Paco de Lucia, Paco de Lucia.
Classic - Andres Segovia.

I used to spend a lot of time listening to Return To Forever, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, John Schofield, Pat Metheny, Bitches Brew, Herbie Hancock's Headhunters et al, but not so much anymore. lol
