Yeah, I completelly agree, but what I mean is that Satch and Vai can play with feeling if the want. Malstemm just cant.
Its funny to listen to this guys and then listen to true feeling like you said Neil young and my favourite slow/pure feeling guitarist David Gilmore.

This is my favourite solo ever:

Gilmlour's great, but unfortunately he uses a strat. lol

Here's one of my favourite guitarists ever - Daniel Lanois.

Oh yeah, and he's not too bad of a producer either.

so you are one of those insane Phish fans. I love em actually, lawn boy is an awesome album. The solo and the tone on "run like an antilope" is just beautiful. Havent listened a lot outside of that album. Which one do you recommend?

i recommend all of them, but their live shit was what it was really all about. incredible energy. like a rave, only 10 years ahead of its time, and for hippies. (and improvised, with instruments).

Another one of my favourites.

Terry Kath.

Hendrix thought he was the cat's meow too.

The solo starts at 2:00.

two of my top 5 together. And IMO probably the best rock/blues guitarist with hendrix there has been.

Jeff Beck and SRV

I love all of this shit.

My band employs all of the same things as these guys did.

Interpretive covers, extended solos, imporvisation...

We never play a song the same way twice.

Wes Montgomery could play octaves faster than most guitarists could play a single note run. He was also Terry Kath from Chicago's idol.
