I dont know man. I just couldn't get into her songs for some reason. Lately I'vs been really into guys like Lee fields, Chales Bradley, Eddie Hope, Manish Boys, Muddy Waters, James cotton, even some Ray Charles. Anything soul, funk, blues but i only seem to like the slow versions. I dont know if that makes sense.

i just meant they are very similar artists in that they're both a throwback to authentic soul/funk. They've even collaborated a few times. I remember the first time i saw Sharon Jones and her band play live. Blew me the fuck away. one thing it wasn't was slow though.

just remedied one of the things that has been missing in my life..... listened to "The Bends" for the first time from start to finish. every bit as good as i was hoping. "Sulk" just might be the most underappreciated song of all time. genius.
