Why do you hate swimming? Is it because you CAN'T?

If so, put on a lifejacket and presto! Instant confidence! You can still have fun in the water that way until you learn.

i wish i could go kiyaking and swimming.
instead im stuck behind a desk all day working for the man.

would you rather be doing that you little sissy.
im kidding, of course, you arent a sissy. sissies are little shits who are afraid to do things and make excuses for their lives.
thats not you.

dont be afraid of kiyaking... you will be wearing a life jacket... you'll be fine.
as for the swimming part, just tell the instructers you cant swim, then hang out in the shallow section... im sure there will be others there who cant swim either. you'll make a bunch of friends. maybe even create a gang! you can call yourselves the non-swimmers!

THAT's what you refer to as ruining a summer !!

but despite all that, i've still managed to adjust and have some fun during my summer holiday

with all due respect...grow some !...you need to get out there and experience life before it's too fucking late

Amen! Sorry to hear about your bad luck this summer. I haven't had any vacation this summer and won't at all. To bitch about 2 months of hiking, swiming, Kayaking, camping is sad imo. How's he gonna cope in the real world.
How's your mom doing?

How's your mom doing?
she's out of hospital...thanks for asking

i didn't bring that stuff up for pity...just trying to point out that some people whine about the most insignificant shit
fuck me, people have to get out there and LIVE their lives because our time here is finite
a couple of weeks ago i watched a man (Mom's common law)) dying from cancer...i spent 3 days at his bedside watching him fight for every last breathe before he died...he battled because (in the end) he realized just how precious life really is and he was trying to savor every last min that he had (regardless of the pain)
the other funeral was a hockey parent (one of my goalies from last year)...extremely nice lady...was talking to her at the rink the same night she died...she went home and dropped dead from a heart attack...she was 54

so GET OUT THERE and experience life before it's too late...try everything that comes your way...and then look for other things to experience as well...
doesn't matter if you fail at it...just experience it...THAT's what life is all about

end of rant

aight its all good. I can swim, my ears are fine. (Just went to a pool) I have some nitpicking issues that make me not want to go but I'll keep my options open.

You all put good points. When death crosses my mind, I instantly think about doing anything while I still can. I get all these urges to do something while I still can.

I remember having to practice mouth-to-mouth on real people. That was the only aspect of swimming I ever hoped to avoid. And I took lessons late and looked a bit foolish, but it was easily worth it. I've known adults that never learned to swim, and it takes so much out of traveling and so much recreational stuff.

So as long as there's no mouth-to-mouth on snotty kids, there's just too many plusses to ignore. We came from the water, we are mostly water, and the water level is rising in the oceans. Drink it all in. Figuratively of course.

I want to survive and the camp hints were not too helpful. They said to just wave your arms and dont run. Yell at the bear and let him know your there. I plan on bringing a knife and some sand.
