Question for you Benzo...

Can files be transfered/converted from Numbers to Excel?

I'd figure they can't, but curiosity has the best of me...

I've had a macbook pro for about 2 years now, and I rarely have problems with it. In fact, I experienced most of my problems when I used boot camp and installed Windows XP pro in another partition. When I was logged into Windows XP, my laptop would hang every hour or so, and if it entered sleep mode I would have to restart just to get out of it.

Once I uninstalled Windows, 99% of my problems went away. My mac isn't perfect though, but the problems I encounter are minor and rarely occur.

Also, I didn't bother buying any "office" packages for my Mac, I just downloaded OpenOffice for free. It allows you to make text documents, spreadsheets, etc... it's not bad at all. I noticed that I could also save my files as microsoft word docs as well!

Also...

lmfao I wanted to post that vid in this thread but I searched it up on youtube and couldn't find it...what a waste youtube is with all of the copyright rules.

When Dave Chappelle endorses a Mac, you know it's a good product lol

anyone know if Macbooks go on sale for boxing day?

I think I read somewhere that Apple doesn't really lower their prices for boxing day.

Funny you should ask, they recently had a weekend where they had a sale. My and my GF went in a few days later because i was thinking about getting a Mac Air, they said the sale ended. We then asked if they had boxing day sales and the guy said they reduce the price only once a year (two weeks ago) and that is it.

damn ic, the cheapest macbook pros (2.26 ghz processor/4gb ram/250gb HD) are $1249 + tax at Best Buy and Futureshop, so with everything, i'm looking at paying around $1400. It's cheaper to find one on Kijiji but most of the posts seem a bit shady lol, plus the batteries suck on used Macbooks.

the Macbook Air seems a little flimsy, i'll be moving it around a lot, if I accidentally drop it, I'm pretty sure it won't make it lol

Yea the macbook doesn't seem like a bad option but there's only one model and I'm looking for a little more ram and a larger hd for my laptop.

I was actually about to buy a Macbook pro off Kijiji today. A guy was selling a 13" Pro with the 2.4 ghz core 2 duo processor, 8gbs ram (he upgraded it) and a 320gb HD, he even had win7 on it. Was gonna buy it for $1200 but then an hour before i was gonna meet up with him he said that he had an offer for $1500 so i didn't get it.

Was kinda pissed about it but my dad keeps telling me that I shouldn't buy it off Kijiji cause you never know if the laptop has a problem and what can u do if it does after using it for a few months. Might go to Best Buy on Sunday and just get the Pro for $1249.

dude never buy a used computer for over $1000. That's insane.

Secondly don't buy a mac if you intend on running windows. Totally defeats the purpose.

windows is poo compared to the Mac OS. Glitchy, buggy program that sucks. Why would you want to run windows off a mac?

i fail to understand why someone wants to dish out that kind of money and then use their mac to run windows. TO me it makes more sense to spend half the amount and just get a windows based PC.

I have a desktop PC (quad-core) which I only use for sketching, and cad work.
I use a macbook pro for everything else. The answer is yes to all your questions. I never get any lags, and when it "crashes" it's something i've always wished would happens when something crashes. The OS seems to be better streamlined where things load more readily even with lower performance values.

This is just my opinion, but note I use both a PC and a Mac and my PC is pretty damn good when it comes to specifications.

picked up my macbook pro for around $1800 with the 3 year warranty (hate how they scare us into getting one), IWork, laptop case, and a printer at Best Buy.

Been using it for about an hour right now but loving it so far.

And at what fancylad was saying, Windows7 isn't actually a great OS. Switching between the two isn't a bad option but I'm not gonna do it with my new laptop...gonna stick with OS X, way too slick lol
