Default there goes the neighbourhood

http://www.torontosun.com/News/Toron...66751-sun.html

alot of ppl i know got caught up ... a few ppl i really dont like aswell

O well, another day in the "soft" area of Toronto.

Huge waste of time and taxpayer $, the amounts of drugs they actually seized are so small its a joke. Drug squad is so corrupt i wont get in2 it, but ill bet anything they seized a ton more then they reported. And beat the crap outta enough ppl. Now im not gonna say these guys are nice guys who didnt deserve w/e they got, but when you pretend to be the law and break it yourself your lower then them. I dont think selling drugs is that bad, the violence and stuff that surrounds it is tho. Its really a supply and demand thing tho, the city should focus on getting ppl off the pipe, cuz no matter how many you lock up, especially in an area like Parkdale (i know haha no crime in parkdale), 2 more pop up. Ive had enough friends and one member of my family die to some gang or drug related bullshit and im getting sick of it. Sorry 4 the long post just kind of sad day to see 2 really close friends locked up, no matter what u think they are good guys just caught up in the wrong thing, i hope it ends up ok. rant over

The arrests led to the seizure of 318 grams of cocaine and crack with a street value of more than $30,000, 415.48 grams of marijuana worth $800, and more than $10,000 in alleged drug money.
lol, 96 arrest and they are proud of getting that? WTH?
Always the same story, they get the small dealers, some consumers and addicts but the Big guys keep doing they job happily ever after.
The hypocresy of sociaty has no bounds.

In Spain is really typical to drink in the streets but they made a law in wich you cant. If you get cought drinking or smoking a joint in the street you get a 300 euros ticket. I have two 300 euros ones and I have no idea how Im going to pay them. Driking in the street is a part of our culture and EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE here has done it at some point in their lives but now we cant. A friend of mine got two 300 euros tickets for smoking and drinking on his birthday in a park where we werent bothering anyone. The poor man has like 7 tickets overall, Ridiculous...

I got an idea....If you don't want to get in trouble with the law, don't break it. If you knew the risks and did it anyway, I have zero sympathy for you.

Anyone who knowingly breaks the law, gets what they deserve, I agree some laws are not just, and SHOULD be broken on principle. It how change is made, but you can't speed, knowing it is illegal, and then bitch when you get a ticket, and this is comming from a guy who accually got a jay-walking ticket.

When I had long hair I used to get stopped by the police all the time just walking down the street. Once I was walking with my mom and they almost ran us over with their squad car, made me put my hands up in the air, frisked me, questioned me and treated me like a criminal. Apparently I fit the description of an armed assailant roaming the suburbs of St. Catharines on a Tuesday afternoon.

my sentiments exactly.

its what our society has come to. if im a 16 year old kid, standing over a 900 degree frialator at mcdonalds, understandably pissed off that im doing this shit for minimum wage, i too would ask myself "hey, can anyone tell me why i shouldn't be selling drugs?!?!?!?"

I worked at Mcdonalds for a year when I was 16, I had the time of my life. I would highly reccomend it to any teenage...but I get your point...

300 bucks a week at McD's or a day on the street?

teens nowadays are so friggin lazy... they're all about getting easy money...
they have no clue what hard work is.
thats the problem.

they want so much crap, and dont want to work for it.

the media glamorizes the bling bling and the gansters.... kids see this and want all that shit. its pathetic.

The blame lies almost squarely on a lack of parenting.

I grew up in a terrible neighborhood, with a single mother, and she would whoop my ass if I got in any sort of trouble...as soon as I was old enough, she said I need to get a job...and it wasn't a suggestion.
