I went to SWC and later on CI, but by then I had abandoned athletics for the lure of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. ;)

Guarenteed we know the same dudes.

I used to ball with a bunch of CI guys.

Marty, Ritchie, Dave, Tony, Leon....heh.

I actually had transferred from WP to play at CI in grade 12 but got busted on the SOSSA rule for transfers and din't wanna sit a season so I went back to WP. I became good buddies with those guys.

Shit, my first dunk ever was in that Gym.

One of my best memories in basket ball was this one day, Hadjek, Phillips, Myself, Jamie and Neil Paris were playing hoops there and Me and Dave Started dunking. (I'm hoping you remember these guys). I was all fired up and we had the tunes blasting on over the amps. At that time, I was 19-20, and I was still a one foot jumper for a lot of my dunks, which is why I know have a bone spur the size of a Dime on my left knee, but at the time I could jump. I took off from inbetween the foul line and the bottom of the circle and dunked a sweet statue of liberty. Not that big of deal considering Jamario does it from the same spot, on the OTHER SIDE of the foul line, but for a 6'1" white kid, it was a life achievment, with 4 guys watching.

those were the days Acie. I was a GYYYYYYm rat!

As far as SWC goes, I played a lot of ball with those kids too. I used to have to guard Castleman and Cam the tall dude in real games. Castleman didn't like me because I playe dhim well and drew many charges...fucking fullback!

I also blocked his shot a bunch of times. After HS himself, Partridge, and all those guy, we all hung out in the Summerime with a bunch of Niagara hoops guys, we loved that shit man. Good times

ps. ACIE.

Our good friend Dave Feschuk, a Secord kid, he and Chris Banfield were part of that Gym rat crew too, thats how I know him. We still email once in a while. He's an ok guy, but I never really liked him when we were young. He was a a very solid player though.

I wonder if you and Acie have shared the same women/men?

Doc....move this shit outta the game thread....let Acie and SJ have there very own "St Catherines....The city that is on the way to Niagra" thread.

Superjudge 02-22-2008 10:56 AM

Shut up Benzo, were getting to a game relevant point, you;'ll see!!!!!!

:P

Acie 02-22-2008 11:06 AM

I was a Knicks fan back then, so there Benzo!

I remember Marty from school/hockey and of course Phillips simply because he was the biggest dude around. But like I said I was a long haired freaky musician, so I didn't really have to many connections to athletics unless you count the odd pickup game between me and Aar_Canada or playing hockey high....on life. Did the Feschuk's have a sister? I think she may have went to Sir Winston?

Dr. J. Naismith 02-22-2008 11:09 AM

As per Benzo's request. :)

Wait a minute...city of Champions?....I think not....is St.Catherines even a city?....nice bridge though.

Acie 02-22-2008 11:18 AM

Dude, St. Catharines has a population of 140,000 and well, not much else... :(

Aar_Canada 02-22-2008 03:13 PM

Acie and I were dunking on my driveway basket when we were 17.
My mom ran into Scott Feschuk at Duff's. She was quite elated since she reads MacLean's.
And St.CathErines? What the dilly?

Superjudge 02-22-2008 03:48 PM

Ya, Jen Feschuk.

heh.

You played with Marty?

I played three years above ya, good ole St. cath. Before they even had a fucking name.

No royals.

Just St. cath.

Phillips, I have many Phillips stories.

I called him big fella, he called me Little man.

I was there when he had his first dunk ever, it was ugly.

Of course, his dunks became UGLY in a good way as he got older.

Dave could ball. Had a ride to Texas and fucked it up in JUCO cuz he was a nitwit.

Idiot.

Acie 02-22-2008 03:58 PM

He had a very high-pitched voice for such a large man.

I always wondered what became of him. I thought I had heard quite a few years ago that he ended up out east playing.

Superjudge 02-22-2008 05:55 PM

he went to texas tech, then came home, played a year at Niagara, then headed to the CIAU and played out his elegibility at Dalhousie.

I like Dave.

He's a funny man.
