The HTC One X is actually faster than the S3 but technically they are almost the same. The One X has a 1.5GHZ Processor and the S3 has a 1.4GHZ processor.

Thing about the One X is that it doesn't come with an SD slot and it has no removable battery.

Like Nites said, the only real disadvantages of the One X are no SD slot and a non-removable 1800mAh battery (which is quite average but it offers no room for the user to upgrade easily) compared to the S3s 2100?mAh removable battery, upgradable upto 4000mAh I think. The feel of the phone is amazing though, it doesn't feel cheap in the hand like the S3 does to me. Otherwise, they are both evenly matched hardware wise and you can't go wrong with either one. HTC One X+ should be released in a few months btw.

isn't jellybean coming soon? i have a 3 year old HTC but one thing I don't like is that they release phones continuously. i just want them to stick to 3-5 phones instead of the 20 they have now.

In the US, Jelly Bean should be coming to the S3 in November, no idea when it's coming to the HTC One X. If you don't like waiting around to get upgrades on your OS, you can root your phone and flash a Jelly Bean rom on it, made by developers from XDA.

And yeah, the amount of phones these manufacturers release is insane, there were probably 60 variants in the Galaxy line from Samsung last year. For now my plan is to upgrade every two years to that current year's flagship Nexus smartphone. Nexus devices always get the latest updates to Android first, straight from Google.

ugh, so annoying watching people with obvious biases wasting internet space with their own home made reviews...

That said, they are good just for seeing certain selling points you may not have considered.

UPDATE: As of Friday afternoon, CNET reports Verizon has pushed delivery dates back to September 28, while AT&T's website states iPhone 5 orders will be shipped in 14 to 21 business days.

If you want that shiny new iPhone 5 as soon as possible, then grab your folding chair and an umbrella, because you may have to wait in a long line outside the Apple Store.

According to Business Insider, about one hour after the iPhone 5 pre-orders were made available to the public (at 12:01 a.m. PT on September 14), the entire stock was sold out. Shipping estimates on the company's site now currently say it will take at least two weeks to deliver phones in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and Germany.

While some lucky Apple enthusiasts quickly ordered their devices, this morning's purchasing process had a few glitches. CNN reports that heavy traffic on Apple's website led to the damning "We'll be back" sign, which inevitably frustrated the sleepy internet and Twittersphere.

Some smartphone users found a loophole and were able to bypass Apple's overwhelmed website and place orders via the Apple Store's iOS app. According to CNET, "buying options went live immediately after midnight" via the app.

MacRumors suggests that customers "may still be able to receive launch-day delivery" (September 21) by ordering though AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint. But the Apple-obsessed site also gives one final caveat to expecting iPhone 5 owners: the 9/21 delivery date from listed on the carriers' sites may not "immediately reflect available stock."

Yikes

Sometimes I think they just do this to create hype. Then again, I don't like the iPhone, and I refuse to revel in its greatness.

The Lumia 920 is top tier hardware wise, but for a consumer it'll come down to which of the major operating systems they enjoy the most: BB, Windows 8, Android, or Apple.

BB is kind of in a shithole right now, and won't get out until RIM unveils the BB10 operating system. Windows 8 is pretty sweet, you'll just have to wait it out for a year until the windows app store is flooded with quality apps. Apple has a great ecosystem going with the iPod and Macs and iCloud, so if you have a household full of apple products, an iPhone is the way to go. Android is pretty open and customizable, and has over two thirds of the smartphone market-share, but it has some catching up to do in the ecosystem category with Apple.

But back to the Lumia. Nokia got a lot of bad press for lying in an ad where they appeared to be showcasing the camera of the new Lumia (spoiler: they weren't). And when companies do this it really grinds my gears. Still, the phone is pretty top notch.

I had a windows HTC phone when it was first launched. Opera would close for no reason and it was slowww. thats why I'm unsure if I want a windows phone again.

I would buy the 920 if it had android. It seems as if it's built very well. The thing about Samsung phones is that they are quite fragile. My USB port on my Galaxy S1 is so bent out of shape that the charge cable can barely fit inside the port. On the other hand I've seen a ton of cracked screens with the iphone. It's almost as every second person I see who has an iphone has a cracked screen.

doesn't Samsung have wireless charging? I know Nokia has/or will have that option. I'm waiting on the release of the 920 to make a decision.

Looks solid. They should start making phones water resistant now. Then eventually make them fully water proof.
