Schumacher renains in coma
This isn't new anymore, but thought it definitely needs separate thread. One of the F-1 all time greats. Hope he will be ok

Sucks. Dude has been on top of his game all his life. He should get to enjoy the endless free dinners and accolades. Hated how Earnhardt died. And i have never watched more than a minute of car racing.

BBC Sport - Michael Schumacher: One month on, unanswered questions remain

"It is extremely unlikely, and I'd honestly say virtually impossible, that the Michael we knew prior to this fall will ever be back," Hartstein said.
"I think that it will have to be considered a triumph of human physical resiliency, and of modern neurointensive care, if Michael is able to walk, feed himself, dress himself, and if he retains significant elements of his previous personality."

"It is still possible to regain consciousness, but this is far from certain.

"At best, there will be handicaps in respect of communication, memory, mobility and independence.

"At worst, the patient may remain in 'low arousal state' with little awareness of surroundings, some response to comfort/discomfort, cycles of being alert, occasionally appearing to recognise or make attempt to communicate."

Schumacher has been in an induced coma for 31 days since his accident at the French Alpine resort of Meribel.

After several months, a patient experiencing an extended period of reduced consciousness may be diagnosed as being in a persistent vegetative state (PVS).

Patients in this state have not recovered sufficient consciousness to make any form of communication, but can breathe without mechanical assistance.

Good news! :)

Formula One great Michael Schumacher is no longer in a coma and has been moved from a hospital in France where he had been receiving treatment since a skiing accident in December, to a Swiss hospital.

Schumacher left the hospital in Grenoble "to continue his long phase of rehabilitation," his manager, Sabine Kehm, said in a statement.

Good stuff - at this point you just hope he recognizes his family and can lead a normal life.

It's really sad..The man is a legend in motor-sports and always will be for that matter! I would hate to see him in the condition he must be in now! He was wearing a helmet when he hit his head, cracked the helmet! He must have really taken a hard hit! His sport (auto racing) was a dangerous one and everyone knows the risks, who would have thought a simple skiing accident would ultimately be the thing that endangered his life. He will never be the man he once was! I feel for his family!
