At her peak in the 1980s and 90s, Ms. Houston the golden girl of the music industry and one of the world's best-selling artists.

Shadowfax 02-12-2012 11:25 AM

This woman had been to hell and back with her addiction to cocaine and pills...hopefully she is at peace now

jeffb 02-12-2012 11:33 AM

Addiction is a terrible thing to have to overcome, and having "resources" might just make the task that much more difficult.

Barracuda 02-12-2012 12:13 PM

I loved seeing all the Twitter and Facebook updates late last night about how it's stupid to care about her death because she had an addiction... all while each of these people were blasted off their heads on booze they couldn't go a Saturday without. Hypocrisy at its best.

It is sad, because someone has passed away. She may not have made the best choices with her life, but she was still a person. Every death is a sad one, and 48 is so young.

It's your own fault if you get addicted to drugs, shouldn't of touched em in the first place... I could afford to do blow, but guess what! I DON'T!

She was a great talent in her time, but she also destroyed her own life.

Also I agree with everything Judge and Raptorman said.

Nah, the world would be a better place if certain dictators died at 48. :)

So if she was an alcoholic, or a smoker, it would be different? She didn't destroy her own life. Anybody who made it through an addiction will tell you it's not like that. It's a terrible thing for anyone to face. You might not put yourself in a situation where you would face it, but you also likely have a very different makeup genetically and neurologically. Choices are not always so simple for everyone, and humans do make mistakes.

Drugs are a choice in the end my man, you CHOOSE weather you do them or not, you create your own addictions. I agree with addictions not being easy to kick, but it was your own choices that lead you to the point of addiction.

.

Honest question:

How many of your friends or relatives do blow?
