Default RIP Heavy D

Quote:
Sad news out of Los Angeles this evening, as TMZ reports that rapper Heavy D has died.

The 44-year-old star, who found fame with his 1991 hit Now That We Found Love and appeared in several movies, was reportedly rushed to a hospital this afternoon after a 911 call was made from his Beverly Hills home.

Officials tell TMZ that no foul play is suspected, and they are investigating the death.

Heavy D, whose real name is Dwight Arrington Myers, had just performed at two special events last month: the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Wales and the BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta. He also has a minor role in the new Eddie Murphy comedy Tower Heist.

The overweight star tweeted a simple final message earlier today: "BE INSPIRED!"

He did on of the best Posse cuts ever. "Dont Curse".
One of the few rappers that always stayed positive and was a great embassador to the hip hop culture.
More recently he re invented himself as an actor.

P.S. He also helped start the career of Puff Daddy. He was in some of his earlier videos dancing around.

There's quite a few current and past artists who can thank Heavy D for their start, from what I've been reading.

I had all his cassettes. He also discovered and produced Soul 4 Real who were supposed to be the next Jackson 5 which they weren't, but were still pretty damn good.
