I'd do Paula Deen because of what she cooks. Anyone else?

So at the advise of insider and hoops I tried tried the soup nutsy today for lunch and yeah - it was good. you guys were right though, it was expensive for "to go" food, but the flavour made it worthwhile.

I had a Lobster Bisque soup and (like insider) also grabbed the biggest piece of bread i could find.

I'd go there again in the future.

it was awesome. i can hardly remember now b/c i got so hammered on rioja that night.

loads of stuff, but all tapas. i had guests coming through all night, so we had no main course,. the things i listed when we were discussing it here pretty much all made it on the menu. spicy shrimp, chorizo, several cheeses, paella, shrimp fritters, patatas bravas (very spicy), calamari, a huge pile of very thinly sliced serrano ham... can't remember what else.

thanks for the help on that by the way. you rock belsius.

the paella worked really well. i've done it so many times, and it's so similar to risotto in the way it can be prepared, that i have a feel for it now.

oh yeah Fancy!!!
was there a big line-up? that place is always busy.

you're right, its too expensive for a 'to go' lunch place, but once and a while, its good to splurge.... and as long as you get a jumbo piece of bread, it helps.
so this is perfect, if we ever make a bet (you and i) you'll have to pay me by buying me soup!
yes!
Hoops owes me wings! and fancy will owe me soup!

sure. i'm down for a soup bet in the future.

the only thing that will make it challenging is that i work really far away from there. I went there only because i called in sick yesterday.

The lineup wasn't too bad. I was there at 1:00. I only wish they had more seating options.

yeah, its pretty much a take away place, not much of a sit down place.... but theres tons of food courts around there so people usually get their soup and eat elsewhere.
soooo, you called in sick yesterday huh? what a coincience, so did i.... in fact i called in sick on monday too!
hahahahah, i had a 4 day weekend. i was actually sick, but not sick enough to stop playing video games and watching movies for 4 days straight. it was great!

ok
I can't remember where we were recently talking about Pizza Pizza complaints, but i'll post my rant here becuase it sorta applies.

so yesterday my wife and i were having a late dinner (we're tired, i don't want to cook, mood post-champs league match) and just called in an order to Pizza Pizza. I go to pick it up and i notice that one of our pizzas has regular peppers and i ordered hot peppers. guy behind the counter tells me i can wait for a fresh new pizza, i say no i don't want to do that and ask what other options i have. guy tells me i can take this pizza and get a "credit" onto my account. I say fine, after all, it's late and we're both really hungry at this point.

So i get home. explain the thing to the wife (she's the one that likes hot peppers BTW), and we start to eat. Then we both notice that both pizzas are made with whole wheat dough. I never orderred that. In fact i thought the pizzas tasted far worse becuase of it. So i get on the phone. I finally get a customer service lady and tell her everything.

Firstly, i find out that the "credit" the guy at the store called in for me was just for $3 - for the one topping they screwed up. and then she tells me that she can give me two more $3 credits for the whole wheat dough mistake. That or they would remake both pizzas at that time... even tthough we had already had a few slices of the unwanted pizzas, weren't hungry anymore and i really didn't want to take another 20 minutes of walking back to the store and picking up the pizzas all over again.

Her options didn't satisfy me at all so after listening to her explain the customer satisfaction gaurantee policy i just said, "look. Here's what i would like: I would like two complimentary medium pizzas the next time i place an order with Pizza Pizza. If you can do that great... If not... I will never buy Pizza Pizza ever again." she said that wasn't possible. I said fine and hung up.

Never again.

end of rant.
