i want to make sliders for a party of about 15 people, but i'm not sure if this is a smart choice of foods to serve. Point is i want to have then prepared somewhat as the party is underway, but i don't know how i can avoid having them getting cold in this case.

My plan is to serve snack-style hors d'huervey food, but to have enough that people can get somewhat satisfied. I figured sliders made sense, but now i have doubts.

I'd go with stuff like some nice cheeses, a baguette, crackers, veggies, premade dips, some prosciutto and other cold meats, some shrimp, a quiche and or a tourtiere...

Very little prep time other than cutting and arranging and it doesn't have to be heated other than the pies. Also, if some people don't like red meat, you're covered.

ya i am planning a cheese platter and cold meat platter as well. Will do a couple salads and some quiche type dishes. I just like the idea of sliders as they are always good. but the more i think about it, the more problematic it seems.

if you have everything prepared in advance (patties, buns, condiments, cheese, etc), cooking sliders on the bbq should only take a few minutes. pop out once to light the bbq, and then 10 mins later spend 5-8 mins cooking the patties and warming buns. bring 'em in fresh and bingo, you're done.

i always like cooking when i have guests over b/c it gives me a few minutes break from mingling. a quick trip to the bbq is a good excuse b/c it makes everyone happy when you bring hot food back in.

Mmm ... hummus with mini pita breads. Sooo good. We had our families over for Eid this weekend and I devoured almost the entire bowl of hummus that we made all on my own. The joys of eating for 2.

I ventured out to the Lawrence and Warden area last week and hit up some of the Lebanese markets. I love the flat breads with sumac and other spices on them. And Lavash is such an amazing flat bread that is beautiful when rolled up with fillings and then grilled. And yeah - there was hummus involved as well. Delish.
