Saw one 08' RDX for 10K a couple weeks ago, makes sense.

bad things about the RDX is they have a high theft rate. People like stealing them and dropping their engines in little integra's

MDX solid choice, my mom didn't choose it because it was "too hard to park" heh, you can also test drive the X3, Q5, Evoque

The first Audi I buy has to be a 2dr lol. My dad's been looking at a couple X3's also but he says parts might be an issue. Is it still like that considering the number of beemers on the road now?

If you're buying used then yeah that could become an issue. Definitely go Japanese if that's the case. Maybe consider the soft and quiet ride of the RX350?

don't know much you plan to spend or how big you want it but I'll say that the Mazda CX-5 is pretty decent, reasonably priced and good with gas.

Fancy - fwiw, my matrix has been totally rock solid since 2003. Enough room for 2kids and all the gear for cottage trips, etc. cheap, reliable, easy, bigger than it seems. Ideal if you have no ego about your ride.

I have a matrix. Amazing what stuff you can fit in it. New generation has the old 2.4 litre camry engine. Solid little car

My dad had a bad experience with a Lexus sedan a while back, don't know if he would buy another one. Does the RX350 compare well to the MDX? Heard the newer MDX's were a good drive also.

Thanks, I'll look into it. Probably spend 35K, maybe a little more.

we've had a matrix since 2005. 185,000km later there's been no problems.

well the biggest strike against the subarus is that their AWD is bad on gas.

ya. knock on wood i'll be in the same boat. Before i bought it i took the VIN over to mazda (bought it at a honda dealership) and found out that the original owner bought an extended warranty which can get transfered onto my name. This was the deal sealer for me.

I have a question for you guys. In my buildings parking lot there's an abandoned car, been parked there for at least 7 years (since I moved in). It is covered but I peaked few times and it seems like a Pontiac trans AM firebird. kinda like this I guess 1979 Pontiac Firebird BEAUTIFUL 1979 FORMULA ? WATERLOO ? For Sale
From what someone told me that the owner left to a different country and never came back (dont know if It's true).. So I would guess it is a property of my building by now? I wonder if I could buy it somehow? who should I ask about it?
If I could buy it for 1000$ or so (it definitely needs some love) fix it up and resell it, I could make some $
what do you guys think, is it worth the hassle?
