Default Reality Break time. Isn't this why we play?

Hey Guys,

Wanted to take a break from our regularly scheduled insanity to post a clip that many of you may have already watched.

I was brought up, couched, mentored to view sports a certain way, I apologize that I almost never seem to carry those principles with me online. But I have to admit, I was taught from day one that sports were about the experience, the personal achievement, and the character I might earn as a reward for accepting challenges. I like to think I earned a great deal.

Likely why this video, no matter how glossy, made me tear up today.

Hope you guys like it.

outstanding...tears are rolling down my face as i type this

far too often stuff like this goes unnoticed
as an example...
a few weeks ago (?) during a really bad snowstorm i ran across something while driving my bus that really warmed my heart...a city bus in front of me opened it's doors and a blind man got out (bus pulled away)
the platform for the bus stop is not very wide and has two deep ditches on either side of it...the man became disorientated because of the blizzard (high winds and heavy snowfall) and almost walked down into the ditch...i could see he was in trouble so i stopped my bus beside him, opened my doors and yelled out who i was and that i would get help (told him not to move)....i then proceeded to honk my horn to get the attention of other drivers (not really thinking that anyone would stop, let alone get out and help)
i'm thrilled to say that at least 5 cars stopped, took notice and got out of their cars...some held up and controlled traffic, others came over and helped the man out...explained to him where he was, guided him out of trouble, asked him where he needed to get to and steered him in the right direction

it was incredibly heart warming to see
and it restored my faith in humanity...if even for a short time

that kid and both coaching staffs should be applauded

Happy to hear I'm not the only one who teared up. It's just, for me at least, nice to be reassured every once in a while that human beings still can be...human.

Not a chance. But that doesnt make him a bad person. That means he respects his team mates and the game they have all fought to win.

He made the pass knowing it meant more to Mitchel to have a last shot at the hoop then to his losing team to retain possession.

Kid knows his values and respects others around him. Full marks either way.

That kid with the final shot is that team's Bargnani - he gets to play not because he's a good player, but because his teammates and coach are great people
