It's obvious you got something against Affleck, cuz if you call making 10's of millions of dollars and being successful a crappy career then there's something wrong with you.

Alot of crapy actors make alot of money. My point was that his career is "now" in the toilet and it isn't because of J-LO. Plus most of those movies were unbareable to watch. And the ones that weren't were OK because of the other actors in the movie. If one crappy movie (ie:Gigli) ruins a career than Bruce willis's career would have ended after Hudson Hawk.

Since when having a succesful career means you are a good actor?

Pearl Harbor, Armaggedon and Shakespeare in Love are embarrasing movies. Specially Pearl Harbor, IMO the worst movie of all time.

Exactly. Many crapy actors have successful careers and have made a tone of shitty movies and the ones you named are good examples.IMO Ben Afflek has never made a really good movie and now when he releases a movie most people don't go watch it.And it's not because of Gigli. He sucks and can't carry a movie. Not only that but Gone Baby Gone was a boring shit movie, but at least he wasn't in it.

I think the only movie I enjoyed Ben Affleck in was Good Will Hunting ... and he wasn't even really in that. He did a great job with Gone Baby Gone.

he wasn't in shakespeare in love, and as far as chick flicks go, it wasn't a bad or embarrassing movie at all.

i just watched the dark knight.

a couple notes

my ass hurts

does batman talk like that because his mask pinches his nose?

joker was bad ass

harvey dent subplot was balls and only added extra time on my already sore sitting ass.

i don't find maggie gyllenhaal attractive at all. no chemistry with either bale or eckhart

8/10

i honestly don't like bale all that much, but i must say that oldman, caine, and morgan freeman are very refreshing.

The new Batman flick 8.5/10

As funkie eluded to earlier, the Dent storyline could've been told seperately instead it was rushed from beginning to end.

The Joker was great, I always wanted to see what he wanted to do next and there were moments where I actually felt empathy for him.

There were a lot of great psychological moments in the film where you have to wonder what would you do or how would you react in certain situations. It became mildly complexing based on those points.

I wish they did a Joker origin film as well.

Shakespeare in love was a brilliant story based on the many facts of the day. Maybe because I watched it with a book worm who could marry the history with the movie, I appreciate it more.

And Gweneth shows copious boobage and is wonderfully thin after coming off her breakup with Brad Pitt.

At least it wasn't a "Got comic book" movie that are the only thing Hollywood seems to produce these days.

And you should see Ben Afflek in Hollywoodland . The story about the first Superman actor Chris Reeves. He is quite good as a B Level star trying to get screen respect (great casting!) .

ughhhh that chick was the weak link in this movie!
she is so ugly, i'm sorry, but she looks like a 60 year old.
there was no connection or chemistry with her leading men whatsoever... its like even they were turned off by her.
yuck.

I do prefer her to Katie Holmes though ... Katie Holmes can't act for peanuts.

but at least she's decent to look at...
maggie gyllenhaal just hurts the eyes.
and i am not just disrespecting her looks, its just that she didnt have any chemistry with the male characters at all.
she is a good actor, but this was not a role she did well with.

i don't think holmes could have pulled off being edgier since her character changed since the first, but i just think that maggie was a bad choice for replacement. true, it sounds shallow saying it, but we're talking hollywood and comic books. super hero billionaires don't chase after girls like her, neither do lead celebrity DAs. she acted like a normal everyday girl with a chip on her shoulder. there was no feel for bruce's enduring love, and that's a big part of him dealing with who he is and what choices he has to make.

i actually liked Holmes in the first one... at least she had a connection with Bruce. they had a tenderness about them and had good chemistry with each other.
maggie was just unbelievable and blah.
and you're right funk, another reason she failed was because of her looks..
you see bruce wayne entering a party with 3 supermodels on his arms, then they pan over to maggie who looks like a 60 year old flapper.
yuck.

You're right about the chemistry ... didn't see it. But I still think she's a fine actress, and pretty enough.

Aaaaaaaaaand I'm done.

you think she looks like a 60 year old flapper? really? you crazy man. maybe she's not your type, and maybe she didn't create a sense of chemistry with the male leads, but she's definitely young, fit and attractive. no doubt about that.

where does the 60 year old bit even come from? the slender waist? the firm butt? the smooth, beautiful skin? the graceful neck?

you crazy man.

and to actually like katie holmes? I mean talk about yuck. she can't act at all and seems about as bright as a chalkboard. she's also married to a complete loonie tune, so that doesn't say much about her either.

i think she was completely mis-cast as a young brilliant lawyer... she seemed like a well-dressed high school student.

hot, no doubt, but she was terrible in batman begins. i remember think 'great movie, but terrible casting' when i first saw it. both her and the psychiatrist character were wayyyyy to young-looking for their roles. they looked like children.
