agreed...brilliant film
not sure if you've seen this one, but if you haven't then i highly recommend it as well

Koyaanisqatsi

Koyaanisqatsi is a word taken from an old Hopi language and it actually has a number of meanings...
crazy life
life in turmoil
life out of balance
life disintegrating, a state of life that calls for another way of living

trust me...it's another 10/10 film
directed by Godfrey Reggio
cinematography - Ron Fricke
executive producer - Francis Ford Coppola
and of course the incredibly haunting soundtrack - Phillip Glass

hmmm, let's see..something obscure

Russian Ark

a brilliant film (96 mins) that is done in one take (absolutely NO editing)...filmed in 33 rooms of the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg with a cast of over 2,000 actors...imho it might be the first real masterpiece of the 21st century

another 10/10....HIGHLY recommend it

Inception

it's a film that almost challenges you to keep up...a well structured and incredibly complex storyline
an ambiguous ending that leads to different interpretations (my girlfriend and i couldn't agree on what happened at the end)

all in all it's a must see....8.5/10

Saw CopOut.

Just a vessel that allowed for Tracy to be wound up and let loose. If you like him then you are gonna laugh alot.

side note, saw in the credits that it was directed by Kevin Smith, maybe that is why I liked it.

7 out of 10

watched a couple of movies on the weekend...

Kick-Ass - 7.5/10
pretty funny, loved the violence...
the girl in it is really hot.

Book of Eli - 4/10
what a waste of time... horrible movie. it had a few good fight sequences, but other than that it was a complete dud. and im usually a big fan of 'post-apocolyptic' movies, this was just plain bad.

I hope you're not talking about the 12 yo
I would give Kick Ass the same rating

I couldn't finish Eli on the plane, switched to a Robin Williams comedy special, so inc/10

saw PofP - 6.5/10

hahahaha, not the kid.... the main character's girlfriend - she's the hot one - she was also featured in one of the Babe of the day threads a while back.

and you were smart to switch off Book of Eli, it was such a bad movie.

on a side note, my GF forced me to watch the movie 'remember me' last week... its some romantic chick flick with the vampire guy from Twilight.
anyone here secure enough to admit they watched it?
it was actually really good - the ending was huge - i really enjoyed it a lot.

imho The Road is an excellent "apocalypse" film...with a mind blowing performance from Viggo....an easy 8/10

old movie, but Wedding Crashers seems more like a romance movie than a comedy

excellent movie. pretty damn depressing, but i wouldn't expect post-apocalyptic times to be any different. the whole concept of the story is amazing. from the very first scene, you're in disbelief and then you're accepting. cormac mccarthy is amazing.

the good the bad and the ugly

when i watched the movie, i just kept thinking of all the time spent on making the set and costumes, re-creating towns then blowing them up. crazy

Sounds like a good recommendation Mr. M. You seem to be full of em too(good recommendations that is). I finally watched Baraka and I loved it, I now have my eyes set on "Chronos".

I'll check out the Road too, I love post-apocalyptic themes.

Not sure if I really should post this in Random Youtubes but seeing that you have an interest in those kind of movies I think you might enjoy watching these:
