Big Ass Spider - saw it while waiting for the game to start. B movie that knows it is a B movie and does not try to be an A movie while mocking B movies and some A movies that take themselves too seriously. It was fun and relaxing. 8/10 for a B movie.

Unbroken is a great non-fiction book. It's a bit weird that the movie version is directed by Angelina Jolie. Hopefully it won't suck.

the new X-Men somethin' rather

I'm still trying to figure out what the heck I just watched
Why does everyone have to scream in that movie? The fire guy screams when he shoots. Was that supposed to be Bishop? Yaah, he screams when he shoots. Wolverine screams when he stabs some fools. I just don't understand the screamy parts. And... I'm getting sick of dark battle scenes in Superhero movies to mask crappy CG animation. It's a shortcut that's getting old really fast for my taste.

Overall, this may hurt some feelings, but that movie gets a D

Predestination - 7.9 really trippy sifi movie

As above so below - 7.2 much better horror movie than expected, I'm not sure why the ratings are around 6.0 on imdb, imo it's really creative movie.

Watched FURY today.

Was a very basic movie. Really nothing special but cool if you like war movies.

When USA is at war, they tend to release all these rah rah rah flag waving movies. This is just another. When their wars stop, this movie will be forgotten.

Knowing

Nic Cage, end of the world kinda movie. Hadn't seen it yet.

It had some crazy random stuff in it. Movie lagged and I hit fast forward on bunch of dialogue scenes to get to the good stuff. Gotta watch out for those child abducting angels.

I rated this movie a C+

Lately Hollywood works real hard to make amazing trailers. But the actually movie is kind of dorky. I still want to watch Fury, I hope it's not too stinky.

I actually liked fury.
But I love war movies, so that makes me a little biased.
The story is pretty basic, but the action and emotions are great.

I totally love a good war movie. Complete respect for all that served in all wars. Don't believe in the past 3-4 "conflicts" 'Mericans started, but that's not a reflection on the soldiers.

I prefer the "Based on a true story" like Patton, Dirty Dozen etc, but a good made up story can work too. River Kwai, Saving Private Ryan..

When USA is at war , they produce the same story. 5 of our guys are way braver than 200 of your guys. I'm sure these things happened but on both sides.

And Fury was just another one of those. I hate a dumb enemy because they were not.

But the war scenes and re-enactments were great. And who doesn't like a head blown off now and then? And every time a good guy dies, we get a good long 2 minute speech before he dies!

agreed
the beach scene in Ryan was mind-numbing...i can't imagine what that would have been like

so many greats to choose from...a few of my favorites are...

Glory
The Guns of Navarone
Where Eagles Dare
A Bridge Too Far
The Great Escape
The Thin Red Line
Letters From Iwo Jima

so many others but i want to mention one of my alltime faves...not what most would consider a "serious" war film but it's set in WW2...Kelly's Heroes

I was chatting with a German kid about 10 years ago and I had Patton on TV. I told him it was one of my favorite war movies. He said "you have movies about wars?"

Sore losers. :cookie:
