Ha. That's a fantastic description. And so true.

Frankly, I didnt get off on the films, but if a true fan of the material likes it, there must be something there.

To each their own.

Oh. Except comic book films. Everyone has to stop going to those to force Hollywood to start making real films with real writing again.
Agreed. Hollywood is getting VERY lazy these days.

Also... as a big LOTR fan I have to say that the trilogy was one of the best "book to movie" adaptations that I've ever seen. Beautiful cinematography too.

Glad you liked it. I hadn't heard much about it either until I saw people raving about it. Definitely lived up to the hype (IMO).

Big deal, i could list pop stars that have a long list of awards, sold 100Mil + albums, sold books, had long extremely successful careers, have broken records and you'd probably call them crap. One person's gold is another man's crap (or however that saying goes )

Not the point whatsoever but ok. And in their respective industries their equivalent. But yes, i'd rather have an Oscar than Grammy. lol
And what if some of these pop stars have been nominated or have won an Oscar?

I doubt it.

Maybe he would say that it isn't what he chooses to listen to, because as you point out, everyone has different tastes... but it would pretty immature for him to dismiss any such successes as "awful crap".

Exactly.

Some musicians or singers can act and vice-versa.

The only thing that makes me believe in the Oscars is when Daniel-Day Lewis wins.

He's a good actor but I have to say - Lincoln was a snore-fest. The worst is Streep.

One of the extremely rare times I'd go to a theatre to re-watch a movie.

While I wouldn't actively want to watch it again, if some friends wanted to see it I certainly wouldn't oppose the idea.

Watched Don Jon last night, and it was easily the dumbest movie I've ever seen in my life.

Really, I think it tries to tackle hyper-masculinity and the absurdity of it quite well.

I agree it's not the strongest movie of all time, however to say it was the dumbest is well, dumb.
