So i watched a few:

Chopper - Eric Bana. Fantastic and chilling. A friend of mine met the real life "Chopper" at a book signing.. a CHILDRENS BOOK signing. Creepy.

Last train Home (Doc): about th New Year worker migration in China. emotionally stirring doc, on a few levels really.

Life of Pi

pretty good with some really nice special effects. the whole zebra, orangutan, hyena story happened a little too quickly, which kinda ruined the story of the book. with that said, i never thought they'd be able to translate the book to the movie without it being a cartoon or something of the sort. still a good story.

Sound City. Documentary about a famous LA music studio and how the music industry switched from analog to digital. It was pretty fun to see all the famous bands that recorded there. I got tired of Dave Grohl - I get it Dave - you're so retro you need to be interviewed sitting in the driver's seat of an 70's VW van. Gets a B from me.

I'm not sure if I've posted this before but the best music movie I've seen recently is "Searching for Sugar Man". Really interesting documentary about a 1970's American musician who's album became huge in South Africa without him knowing. Gets an A.

groovy

Life Of PI

the movie is a little over 2 hrs...felt the storyline was a little thin as a result...we still enjoyed it though
and the visuals ?...stunning (really wish we has seen this in 3D)

Ang Lee should be applauded...excellent job...7.5/10 (i'm sure i would have rated it higher if we had seen it in 3D)

Flight - Denzel Washington drunk pilot movie
Not bad, he plays a good drunk. Opening seen has boobs, that always helps. Movie kind've lags a bit, gets a little corny. Lacks technical details about the planecrash.

Boob bonus gives this movie a B-/C+

"This is 40". Hated it after 30 minutes and then it kept going for another two hours. I think Paul Rudd is a funny goofy guy, but this movie sucked. Gets a D.

Taken 2 - Short movie, lacks action for being a 90 minute flick. Kind of glad it was over because the movie stunk. Not Qui-Gon Jinn's fault, it was the lack of writing. I give it a D

hard to match the greatness of the first Taken movie. they're making 3 now, wonder how that will turn out.

I thought the second was absolutely terrible. So rushed in comparison to the first one. I was really disappointed.

Dredd - Way better then I thought it'd be. Kind've reminded me a little of DOOM, I wish they'd have expanded the story a little more. But all in all I did like this movie. Lots of brutal action, nice techno trance beats.

I give this movie a solid B

Color Me Obsessed: A Film About The Replacements

There's no music - just fans and associates talking about their experiences and what the band meant to them. For every record they showed a stat like "Pleased to Meet Me sold 100,000 copies in 1985 - that year Asia had the #1 record and sold 6 million copies". I thought the Replacements were way bigger than that.

More of a movie about being a fan of a band rather than a movie about a band.

Gets a B-

Expendables 2 - Random gun violence, script written by middle school kids, old actors.

It gets an F. It'd get a better rating from me, but Jet Li is only in it for 2 minutes.

Evil Dead 8/10

As a Remake really one of the best. But doesn't have so funny moments like the original.
