Jumper 4.5/10

Could have been a lot better than it was.

Watched Day of the Dead (2008) . Screener off a site.

Me and the GF love Zombie movies and this one is a typical of the genre. In other words, I'm glad I downloaded it and didnt pay anything. It was good in a Zombie kinda way.

28 Days After is still #1. With the Evil Dead trilogy coming in second.

In Bruges. 8/10

I had choice between this and that new Will Ferrel movie and since he hasn't done a good movie since Old School it was an easy choice. Colin Ferrel is in this one, and I usually hate him, but this had me in tears at certain moments because I was laughing so hard. Really solid movie.

I saw ummm.... Definitely, Maybe last night. It wasn't too bad, you know - one of the better chick-flick/romantic comedies out there. Just sayin.. 7/10.

i really want to see that one with christina ricci starring as a pig faced debutante. looks solid.

The Station Agent - thoroughly one of the greatest film in the history of film. simple. funny. one of those film that ends and you're left with a feeling of wanting more.

It was pretty good. Usually I'm not a fan of them, but it was heart-warming.

ah yes... i have heard COUNTLESS good things about that movie. I actually picked up a pirated version from an asian DVD place, and the damn thing wouldn't play on my DVD player. That was a while back, and i have seen it kicking around my rental. I will be picking it up shortly.

So what part of Pacific Mall did you get those DVDs? I've heard of a few places in that mall that sells movies 8 for $20.

pacific mall is shit for the theatrical released movies....
the movies are crap... if you guys like seeing the top of people's heads and grainy bootleg movies that have worse resolution than a 30 year old tube tv, then go ahead...
i wait for the dvd to come out, then grab the bootleg version, cause those are ripped from the dvd.

lol.
this place was in mississauga actually.

This was a few years ago, but the cost was something like 10$.

anyways, getting pirate DVDs is so not worth it. Waste of money. lots of them lack in quality, have many porblems, and some of them won't play - different region codes i suppose.

Claud ... I saw No Country last weekend ... have been dying to see it since it came out but with school and rotations and shifts, was not able to until we noticed it was playing at the theatre again ... SO. FRICKEN. AWESOME!

Also took my mother to see Atonement. Ugh. Garbage is being too kind. But James McAvoy was lovely.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. A good movie with lots of twists. I used to think Casey Affleck was a horrible actor and riding his big brother's coat tails, but he was very good in this movie.
That was a great movie. Hubby and myself and a few of our mates went out for ice-cream afterwards and were at Baskins until they kicked us out ... definitely a movie that brought forth a lot of discussion.

Did you see the Assassination of Jesse James? Casey Affleck was brilliant in that also.

Nope, I haven't seen the Jesse James one only because I can't stand Brad Pitt. Maybe I'll suck it up and rent it then.

I rented "We Own the Night" to watch with the wife this evening considering we'll likely be snowed it. So don't tell me about yet.

Ha ha. That is also a good movie. Enough said.

Hubby and I are planning a night in with our Office DVDs. No matter how much I watch that series, I still laugh so hard.

Just saw the Beatles musical "Across the Universe"

Must see if you are a Beatles fan. Should see if you like musicals.

Some parts were a bit forced, but mostly it was well done with good intentions.

20-30 mins shorter would have helped the flow.

I really enjoyed that movie. Very strong singing from the cast ... and the kid who sang Let It Be was beyond brilliant.
