It's really great. Where else do you see an All-Star cast at $6! The book, musical, and this movie is too long and there was no intermission. So I had to go to the washroom during the fight scene and missed the part where Gavroche was killed.
Just came back from seeing it.

VERY impressed with Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway and the dude who played "Marius". Jackman was solid too as expected. Man.... there wasn't a dry eye in the house at the end of that flick.

THIS IS 40

Very meh. Maybe I need to be 40 to enjoy it more? I don't know.

Too long and not much of a plot. It's kinda like a slightly amusing reality TV show. You pretty much just watch a group of family members for 2 hours. There are a few really funny lines, and some scenes with entertaining dialogue, but overall it is not funny at all. I'm glad I didn't pay to see it.

I watched Django today. Loved the first half. Pure Tarantino brilliance. Then the whole thing slowly went to shit. The film lost the stylistic momentum it had built up, and spent way too much time trying to balance out the motivations of characters, mostly unconvincingly. It ended up seeming pretty ridiculous far too often, and plowed through as if they were making up the narrative as they went along. I wish he had made it into two parts like Kill Bill, in which case he might have made the second part work much more effectively, or barring that, there would have been a tremendous first part instead of overall disappointment. Ultimately, I think he was trying to make a film that was beyond his abilities, and the film that he was capable of making suffered badly as a result.

Watched Django and Lincoln. Django was awesome although it could've been better. Lincoln wasn't that great. DDL will probably get an oscar but there was just something missing from that film. Tommy Lee Jones' character was my favourite by far.

watched Looper and MIB3 New Years eve
we both thought Looper was excellent...JGL's impersonation of Willis was incredible...in fact it was so good that we often found it distracting
really good ending as well...8.5/10
MIB3 was just a lot of fun to watch...it was a good rental...7/10

Watched Looper

I really liked it, but I think some parts could've been done better. And I could've done without some things.

Great plot, though.

I read where the last part of Django could be taken as something of an hallucinogenic vision while Django was hanging upside down. That idea makes everything work better for me. I just wish that had clearly been worked into the film, rather than being an interpretation. Half the film needs no interpretation. The other half seems to require all sorts of it, and to me that just makes it all disjointed.

both django and zero dark thirty were solid 9's for me, with django slightly edging it.

Was there a lot of flag waving in zero dark thirty?
