I'm really psyched for X-Men Days of Future Past

Sequel to First class, but they are connecting it with the original trilogy bringing back the old characters to fix the continuity..

Jackman
Stewart
Sir Ian
McAvoy
Fassbender

Amazing cast..

Nice lineup, great story (one of X-Men's best imho)
Only problem is that Matthew Vaughn is no longer directing it..Singer has taken his place and at this point i don't trust him to pull it off

Fingers crossed

Singer directed X1 and X2, the best of the all the X-Men films..

I think Vaughn is still involved, just not directing

Singer was going to do a 3rd and 4th (back to back) before he left to do Superman Returns (fucking awful film imho)
His decisions/ideas are suspect at best...examples are supposedly having Sigourney Weaver portraying Emma Frost in the 3rd...and Keanu Reeves as Gambit in the 4th
I believe Vaughn is one of the screenwriters ??..not sure

Let's just hope that "Future Past" is more "Usual Suspects" than "Superman Returns"

LOL wtf... I heard that Singer had plans for Channing Tatum to be Gambit in X3 and have that be a major plot line in the film.

Heard nothing about Weaver being Frost lol, though I can kinda see it

Only about 2 scenes which were decently funny. Overall I'd give it 6.2/10.

The Hobbit Sets New December Opening Weekend Record

Quote:
New Line Cinema and MGM's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey kicked off the holiday season with an estimated $84.8 million, a new December opening weekend record, surpassing the $77.2 million earned by Will Smith-starrer I Am Legend the same weekend in 2007. The Peter Jackson film debuted in 4,045 theaters in which it averaged a strong $20,958 per location.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey received an A CinemaScore from moviegoers which should help with word-of-mouth through the holidays. 58% of the audience was over the ages of 25 and males made up 57% of the audience.

$10.1 million of the domestic total came from the 326 IMAX theaters the film opened in this weekend. That's an average of $31,000 per screen. Internationally, the picture broke an IMAX December record grossing $5 million in 126 IMAX locations (an average of $40,000). The IMAX locations which showed the film in 48 fps were quite strong, generating $44,000 per screen domestically and $57,000 per screen internationally. IMAX's global weekend total for "The Hobbit" is an estimated $15+ million, which is a record for December.

Just watched Flight. Nebraska has a screener.

Oscar vehicle for Denzil. Preachy movie that disappoints.
