Life of Pi: Another solid flick! 8/10 for me.

Read the book years ago and I'd say that the movie definitely did it justice.

I watched a pretty cool Spanish film from 1971. Spirit of the Beehive. A lot of different layers and wonderfully shot. The village where it takes place looks like it s drenched with honey itself the way the light is captured. There's a great tension between family members in their own hive, and they tend to poison each other more than nourish each other. And that plays within the context of the Spanish Civil war (it's set in 1940), but not directly. It's slow and takes a bit of work, but I found it well worth the slog. It's supposed to be the greatest Spanish film ever, and it's hard to deny that there is a certain crystallized perfection to it.

I found it a lot better than the first. How would you compare the two in terms of entertainment?

just watched Interstate 60: Episodes of the Road. I saw it a while ago and loved it, but couldn't remember the name. Anyway imo it is a hidden low budged gem that probably most of you never heard of, anyway give it a shot I promise you won't regret

i watched a spoof of 70s blaxploitation movies called 'black dynamite.' It was pretty awesome. end scene was a kung fu fight between main character and Richard Nixon.

Dinner for Schmucks

2/10

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Had so much potential with Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell and Zach Galifianakis. I love all 3 of those guys. But I didn't laugh once. Horrible.

Finally got around to watching "Man on Fire".

Solid 8/10.

Dakota Fanning gave one hell of a performance for a child actor. Very impressive.

Couple of scenes in that movie tugged on heart strings and choked me up pretty bad.

Election, been watching some chinese gangster movies on Netflix, this one was recommended and it didn't disappoint. The movie had a perfect balance of dialogue and fights.

8.5/10
