Casa de mi Padre

A great stoner movie. The silliness kept making me chuckle. Gets a B from me.

Bourne Legacy

8/10

Didn't know what to expect but if you like this trilogy you won't be disapointed. I really like Jeremy Rener. Ending was a little disapointing but overall very enjoyable.

Good movie. It's one of my favorite films from 2011. I know a couple of people who have watched it 3+ times and swear it's a top 10 film of all time. I wouldn't go quite that far. I think your rating is fair. It's a solid movie with a few fantastic acting performances. The only thing I dislike about the movie is the use of a few cheesy cliches.

It had the potential to be a huge commercial success, but it totally bombed in the theatre. I suspect that happened for a couple of reasons. For starters, it wasn't marketed well, and the initial trailer made it seem like it was just a fighting movie for MMA fans, despite the fact that there is much more going on. Also, the timing of its release was very unfortunate, which is probably obvious to most people when they realize it came out only months after The Fighter left theatres. It was probably easy to watch the trailer for Warrior and think the producers were just trying to make some B level fighting movie that was similar to The Fighter. Even the choice of music in the trailer seemed wrong to me, which is quite surprising, considering that the movie makes great use of a song by The National during the final fight scene.

Honestly, in my opinion, the combined acting of Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton and Nick Nolte trumped the cast in The Fighter. As an individual, Bale was amazing in The Fighter, but I think he really overshadowed Walberg. You don't get that in Warrior. Nolte is great but so is Tom Hardy.

i thought nolte deserved the best supporting actor for his role

you're bang on with the public perception on the film. i watched it as a 'im bored and this is new' type of movie. i never had the intensions to ever seek out to watch it. glad i saw it and everyone i recommended it too thanked me afterwards, which doesn't really ever happen.

We Own The Night starring Wahlberg, Joaquin Phoenix, Eva Mendes and Robert Duvall. It was quite bad. You'd think they'd be able to make a decent-good movie with some quality actors. The directing was horrible. The lighting, editing, sound editing, etc was quite bad.

If you're ever in the mood for dumb laughs, Grandma's Boy is a movie worth checking out. I'm not sure if I've recommended it yet. It's another movie that bombed in the theatres but got attention on DVD via word of mouth. It's produced by Adam Sandler's company, although he's not in it. The sad thing is, despite bombing in the theatre, I found Grandma's Boy funnier than most of the huge profit making crap Adam Sandler has starred in the past 10 years.

Ted - was vulgar and unexpectedly witty and funny. Worth a rental. 7/10

Bourne Legacy - Didnt have the charisma of the Damon movies. Pretty much just a spy-that-could-do-no-wrong action flick. I expected so much more. 5/10

mark wahlberg isn't a good actor. he's been decent in a few flicks, but overall, he's done a lot of pretty shitty movies. i honestly don't understand how he's still a lead actor.

I thought Walberg was perfect as Mickey Ward. If he brought any more personality to the screen it wouldn't have been Mickey Ward anymore.
