Watched Amazing Spider-man on Friday night. It was very good. I agree that Amazing Spider-man was > than Spider-man (2002).

Question, did they incorporate some/a little/a lot of Ultimate Marvel in this movie?

Spiderman. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.
I don't even want to talk about or compare it to those Toby macguire pieces of crap, because I've always hated them (#2 was decent), and comparing it to those old movies would be disrespectful to the new version and it's awesomeness.

I got around to watching Haywire. It wasn't as good as the Limey, but it was similar. Kinda funny that with such a loaded cast the real star was the cinematographer. Really nice to look at. I love how Soderbergh combines action movies with an art-house feel. The soundtrack was fantastic. It only really needed a bit more of someone other than the one untrained acor carrying the storyline more to be exceptional.

i watched Drive a few weeks back... ive found myself in a bunch of conversations about movies recently, and i keep mentioning how awesome i thought that movie was.
i mustve told a dozen people over the last 2 weeks about Drive... something about the movie has stuck with me. it wasnt over the top, it wasnt cgi or shit blowing up. it was just a really, really good movie. it was just so chill, and tense at some points. it was just a 'cool' movie.

I watched drive recently and it was very good. INSIDER, did you watch the special features? Also, I watched The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Rooney Mara version) yesterday. I liked it, it was pretty good. Note: I haven't read the books or watched the original trilogy.

Finally watched Goon. Liked it a lot more than I thought I would. And for once I didn't wanna punch out the main guy (who I will always call Stifler). I'd watch it again.

I liked Goon a lot more than I thought I would too.

I watched "Jeff, Who Lives at Home" a couple of days ago. I like Jason Segel, and stoners are my people, but I couldn't get into this movie.

I looove Jason Segel. Saw that movie at some premier screening thingy. I liked it, though it wasn't your typical Jason Segel kinda thing.

If you seen mark duplas's earlier film cyrus w/ jonah hill you would know what to expect with jeff who lives at home.

Both great films.

speaking of Goon ...

Comic-Con: A Kickstarter for The Goon Movie

Quote:
Remember those awesome screen tests for The Goon movie that came out a while ago? Man, they were great weren't they? That was at Comic-Con two years ago and there has been even less momentum on the movie since then.

There was a time when fans were clamoring for the film so bad that they pestered creator Eric Powell about putting the film up on Kickstarter so that it COULD get made. Powell quickly shot down the idea, saying that the budget of the film was around $45 million and that the most succesful Kickstarter project to date had been $10 million. Well, color us surprised that Powell just tweeted the image below.

Is it really going to happen? Was the number he threw out there a clever ruse, or is all of this a practical joke on the fans? Time will tell.

I agree. People should go in expecting an entertaining movie but don't get expectations too high. The movie is getting hyped a little too much. After reading comments here, and hearing a few people IRL talk about it, I thought it was going to be a bit better. It's still a good movie, and worth seeing on the big screen though.

This weekend, I also watched a movie called Barney's Version. It's a Canadian film from 2010. Great hollywood level cast, and solid acting. Those of you who can enjoy low budget films might want to check this out.
