Saw Mission Impossible last night. It was true to the genre and interesting enough to occupy my mind for 2 hours. If you are looking for more, you shouldnt see these kind of films.
Great action scenes and the double crossing bad/good guys that always find their way into Ethans life.
8/10

I watched something with a different angle on primates yesterday - a doc called Project Nim. It was about this chimp that was raised with a human family and taught sign language, but it ultimately ends up being about our own disconnect with the natural world as much as the attempt to connect in human terms. There is also a good dose of 70's culture, and sexual politics. Highly recommended.

Watched Contagion. I used to be a pretty big germaphobe, so I thought it might bring back my phobias again. It's a pretty good flick, I'd watch it again. 7/10.

Oh, and Aar - Don't watch it. Whatever you do. Don't watch it. It will horrify you.

I had to check IMDB if this was a real movie because I was reading from the bottom of the thread going up.

I was expecting to find a documentary film featuring interviews with other famous actors she had worked with in the past.

I recently watched this as well and I have to agree, great movie. I've also told some of my friends to watch it and they were also pleasantly surprised. I'd give it an 8.5/10.

I liked the tributes they included to the first movie, I felt that they executed it all perfectly and it didn't just feel like they were ripping it from the original.

The first one was awful. Might see the second one but will wait to watch it at home this time.

New Years Eve.

Not sure why it got such a low rating on Rotten Tomatoes (a whopping 7%). I enjoyed it, not exactly a high-action thriller but it's enjoyable, with some funny parts mixed in there as well. Definitely a good rental if you're into romantic comedies.

7/10.

I saw No Country for old men, after a long time I wanted to watch it, in English (could sound strange to underline it, but I'm italian and i'm watching movies in original language to improve my listening XD): well, putting apart the dialogues, that I found sometimes very hard to follow instead of other movies (I was lucky to have read the book which I loved) I think the Cohens made a great job recreating the violent atmosphere McCarthy wanted to communicate in the original work.

8/10

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - 9/10

Excellent movie. I went in knowing NOTHING about it (no trailers seen, no books read). First time I've done that in a LONG time. I'll probably get the books now and read them before the other movies come out.

The Cave of Forgotten Dreams. 6/10. Documentary about cave paintings in France. The film makers seemed more interested in spirituality rather than science. Questions like "Could this be the beginning of the human soul?" had us heckling the DVD towards the end.
