none whatsoever. Although there is speculation that it started off as a remake. Herzog swears he's never seen it. This film has a much more bizarre, sometimes surreal, and somehow a charmingly comic touch to similar subject matter concerning a bad cop with a drug problem.

yup. there wasn't anything important once the movie was done
I saw it again in the front row of the theater. everything was close you could touch it. Good neck exercise. but I didn't pay for the ticket so I can't complain.

I watched Dark of the Moon last Wednesday, and I've gotta say that it's a 10/10 as a Michael Bay film. Amazing effects in 3D, and despite it's name the movie had a lot of funny moments. If you go in knowing it's a typical Michael Bay film, and you're okay with this, definitely watch it.

i watched a few movies over the weekend... had an alien theme going.
heres my 2 cents:

transformers 3...
what a piece of shit. 2 and a half hours of complete fluff... pointless scenes, trying too hard to be funny (but was not), shia lebuff acting like a smart-ass 13 year old (it was cute when you were younger Shia, but that annoying schtick of yours is old and needs to be put to rest).
the last 30 minutes (fight scene) was great... but it didnt save this horrible movie. i hope its the last one.

Battle Los Angeles....
awesome movie. fantastic action from beginning to end. im sorry i didnt see it in the theatre.

Skyline....
how did this make the theatres and not go straight to DVD? it is so cheap, it wouldve been a great tv show, but it makes a disasterous movie.

watched this over the weekend as well and i totally agree...both the girlfriend and i really enjoyed this film...MUCH better than we anticipated

also watched The Mechanic...Statham had top billing in this but make no mistake...this was Ben Foster's film all the way..he steals and outshines Statham in every scene they are together
regarding the film as a whole...pretty typical action film with a "done this storyline to death" script...give it a generous 7/10

but please...give me more Ben Foster

check him out in the remake of 3:10 to Yuma...a minor role but he's so good in it

I can't see how you thought T3 was a piece of shit and Battle LA was fantastic. They were both focusing on just making the most explosions and noise as possible. While LA had an actual story... it still wasn't as good as Black Hawk Down or any other movie in that genre

T3 was a total waste of time. It was almost 3 hours of pointlessness. The entire movie was trying too hard to be funny, adding in stupid characters that had nothing to do with anything. Seriously, what was the point of John malcovich's character? Was he supposed to be funny? That is what I'm talking about, the pointless additions to the movie that had nothing to do with anything.
Battle la was just pure action from start to finish. It's exactly what an action movie should be. Transformers on the other hand was 2 hours of mindless conversations and acting, 20 minutes of actual action.

And I wouldn't put black hawk down in the same genre as battle la.... One is sci-fi, the other is a non fiction war movie. Completely different.

Comparing them because its basically a war (battle scenes) throughout the movie.
don't know many people expecting an actual story or using characters properly in T3. People just go for the noise/effects.
Both were bad for me anyway

but both were better than Green Lantern

Hopefully Captain America and Hp 7 1/2 are better. Origins was the only decent summer flick I've seen so far.

Captain America looks promising, fingers crossed, and i hope cowboys and aliens is good too.

i agree about xmen, that was a fun movie, best of the summer so far... i actually liked Thor too.

still haven't seen Green Lantern..reviews have been so bad that i won't waste my money in the theater...it's a rental for us
Cowboys and Aliens looks like a lot of fun...unusual story and great cast...a definite theater view for us
and although (as a comic book geek) i had some issues with X-Men, i thought it and Thor were well done

Cap is going to be awesome...book it
even the the bits and pieces of the soundtrack that i've heard are true to the character and era
i get the feeling it's going to be kind of a cross between Rocketeer and Raiders

Alan Silvestri is a fantastic composer and for those who don't know, he's done Romancing the Stone, Back to the Future trilogy, Forrest Gump, Contact etc etc etc...and imho he's nailed Cap's theme
here's a a few samples from the soundtrack

Watched The Switch yesterday.

Predictable, as...um... predicted. Jennifer Aniston always plays the same kinda character. (Except for Horrible Bosses which I'm friggin' excited to see).

But I love Jason Bateman, so it had to be done.

6/10
