Tony Jaa went buddist monk for a while but it looks like he's finally coming back for the Protector 2:

Quote:
Well, it looks like Tony Jaa is sending shockwaves through the martial arts cinema industry once again as he prepares for a sequel to Tom Yum Goong (the protector.) While there were reports that Tony was working with Sammo on a new film, Sahamongkol Film has announced that Jaa will be working on this sequel. Now, there are several interesting things that need to be noted.

First, not only is Jaa back, but he’s teaming up with his original crew. This means that legendary choreographer Panna Rittikrai and Ong Bak director Prachya Pinkaew will be reuniting with Tony. This is interesting on many levels because Tony actually took over the directing role for Ong Bak 2, taking Pinkaew out of the director’s seat. It seems like the two actually butted heads so much that they stopped speaking to one another at one point.
can't fcking wait

just signed up for Netflix...can't fcking watch it on my PS3 so ended up watching the Game on my macbook:

One of David Fincher's unknown thrillers, he's know for making Se7en, Fight Club and last year's The Social Network.

This man never disappoints, just the way he makes movies, it pulls you in until the end.

9/10

I loved the game as well. Michael Douglas is crazy good in this. I remember watching this the same time as the Movie "Fallen" with Denzel. Both awesome endings.

I think I just saw Fallen on Netflix, found my next movie to watch.

EDIT: guess not, thought I saw it but it must've been a different Denzel Washington movie. Next on my list: 12 Monkeys.

12 monkeys was great too. The direction of Terry Gilliam seemd perfect for this type of film. And brad pitt was amazing in it as always.

Rush: Beyond the lighted stage

Not a Rush fan at all, but an interesting documentary. Very talented group no doubt. Huge influence on many musicians. Much better then i expected.....still not a fan of their music safe for a couple songs. But i can appreciate the obvious talent.

8/10

Thanks for the reminder, I wanted to see that. Gotta remember to watch the Lemmy doc, too.

This is just fucked. Now I have the necessary context for the South Park season premiere.

Thor

most here know i'm a comic book geek but i'll try to put aside any "fanboyism" when i'm writing this review
i was very worried how this movie would look and feel when i sat down in the theater...Thor is a very quirky character in the Marvel U and i had doubts as to whether or not Branagh could bring him to life on the big screen without making him look "goofy"...very happy to say he succeeded with flying colors
it had just the right mix of action, romance and comedy relief and he managed to tell an origin story without making you feel like it was being shoved down your throat
the visuals were stunning (particularly in Asgard) and the casting is excellent...Hemsworth was perfect for Thor but i must give a special shout-out to Tom Hiddleston...i thought he was brilliant as Loki (it was a treat to watch his character develop throughout the film)...in order to see him (Loki) at his finest you must stay till after the credits
my only complaint would be the battle between Thor and the Destroyer (too short for my liking)
there is so much to enjoy with this film even if you are not familiar with the character
and for the comic-book geeks like myself there are little "easter eggs" all thru the film...the Eye of Agamotto (in Odin's vault) and the billboard (Journey Into Mystery) are 2 examples off the top of my head

this is a fun film to watch...whether you are a comic book fan or not...highly recommend it...8/10

I'm not much of a fan of super hero movies and have no interest in comic books, but this movie I'll probably check out.

I am a lite Comic Book geek. My wife absolutely loved Thor and she is ot a huge fan of comic book movies. She does however like medival movies. I personally cant wait to see the new avengers and possibly a second thor movie.
Kenneth Branaugh did one of the best Frankenstein adaptations, so i had no doubt it would be a well put together film. But Hemsworth as thor was near perfect.

Spoiler Below

P.S. NOt sure but was that the cube from Captain America in the end of the movie?
