I watched the first hour of Alpha Dog last night before I had to go out and that fight when Ben Foster walks into the party and smashes 6 people was crazy ...looks like he has a martial arts background or was that a stunt double?

Knocked Up. 6/10

I was high when I watched it last night. Bad acting. Bad actors. I saw alot of fake acting! Well, it's Hollywood - as long as you can generate money, you can be an actor!

Your soooo wrong on this one. I thought the acting was great. It really depicted how people actually react to situations and not just fluff acting.

I watched Exit Through the Gift Shop. Amazing post-modern documentary concerning street art. I would love a triple bill of art docs featuring this one, My Kid Could Paint That, and Orwell's F for Fake. That would make anybody's head spin. All three look at the incredibly thin line between authenticity and outright scams in the art world, to the point where the line often disappears altogether. Gift Shop looks at some pretty cool people, but ultimately ends up being about images being drained of all meaning. In the end it's always the rich that give value to art and the rich that get screwed by any kind of fakery.

Thanks for reminding me, I've been meaning to watch that one. It's Banksy's movie, right?

Banksy plays a central role, but it actually got started with a crazy French dude that was addicted to videotaping his whole life. And it sort of gets deconstructed from there.

Watch Magnolia and you'll know what real acting is.

this statement would have held water if you had omitted the douchebag known as Tom Cruise

Machete

i don't care much for cruise as a personality, but i thought his role in magnolia was very well-acted and quite entertaining.

Magnolia had some great acting in it as well. But one is a drama in every sense of the word, and the other is a comedy.

Paranormal Activity 2 - 3/10

Alice in Wonderland 7.5/10 - I like Tim Burton movies. Sue me. It could've been far worse.

Cemetary Junction 8/10 - Nice movie written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant and it's far more 'drama' than comedy which is what I was hoping for. Good cast with Emily Watson and Ralph Fiennes in it and Gervais has a minor role.

Faster - different role for the Rock...not different in that he kicks ass the entire movie but that he's not really the hero...much darker. Nice twist at the end...worth watching. 7/10

Just finished watching the Millenium Trilogy. Not bad at all. The first one reminded me of a cross between kiss the girls and Silence of the lambs.
They were dubbed but what can you expect, i aint waiting for the american versions because likely they will fuck em up.

Winter's Bone.

Excellent out of awesome. I believe it's the only Academy Award nominated film I've seen. I've always been fascinated by that whole, rural, Ozark mountain stuff and this film depicts quite the slice. Slow moving, incredible acting.
