Did she? I found it to be a strong performance overall. The ending wasn't quite what I anticipated, but that sometimes happens.

9/10, murphy and nolte's chemistry together during this film was hilarious, loved it

I've been on a bit of a movie kick lately - checking out a lot of well reviewed ones from the past few years. No Country For Old Men was last night - pretty good, I expected it to be better - and There Will Be Blood is tonight.

No COuntry.. was not that good.
There will be blood was a Classic film. One of the best performances from an actor.

Catfish

Never really heard of it when it was in theatres, saw a commercial once but didn't really find it interesting. But a few friends watched it and recommended it so I ended up watching it today.

Weird movie man, perfect example of why you shouldn't add people you don't know on facebook. Like I see people with 1500 friends and wonder why they added so many. Basically the "documentary" is about a guy who starts talking to this girl over facebook and she starts sending him portraits of his pictures (he's a photographer), it starts getting a little weird and then him and his friends travel across the US to surprise her and what happens after.

It's supposed to be a documentary but some of it felt off but I still thought it was a pretty good movie.

7/10

The Mechanic

some crazy action scenes, Statham always brings it but Foster had some great action scenes also, he's a great actor so he brought more to his role and pretty much stole ever scene he was in. If you haven't see it yet, watch the Messenger with Foster and Woody Harrelson when you get a chance. Directed well also but one thing about this movie though is it ended too early, could've gone a bit longer with an end battle.

Due Date: 6.5/10. Had some funny scenes but it was too crass for the wife to enjoy and that's not really what I like in a comedy either. Just too over the top without any real gut-busting scenes.

Foster is great. Loved him in "Alpha Dog".

The Mechanic is decent enough.... nothing spectacular but a good action flick rental.

My wife and i were talking about how funny/cool it would have been if he became James Bond. Being a huge Bond affectionado, i think it would have been awesome. Statham would have been a real kick-ass version of Timothy Dalton.
I like Daniel Craig in the role of Bond.... but I would LOVE to see them use Statham as a "bond villain"... maybe a rogue MI-6 agent or something.

I think that the two of them could make an epic Bond movie together.

I decided to dust off my Going down the road DVD yesterday. For those that don't know it's a classic Toronto movie from 1970. I love watching it once every couple of years. It's also neat seeing what toronto was like back then and how lots has changed, but lots is still the same.

In watching it i also realized that I miss Sam the Record Man.

I'll have to look that one up. What's it about?

(I miss Sam's too. It was a big part of my old Toronto visits to see my sister many years ago.)

it's about two guys from the maritimes that decide to head to the 'big city' because they think life is great there, they'll get good jobs, etc.
