The American.

8/10

Loved it.

Solaris, Up in the air, The American.... etc.

Clooney is in a lot of very quiet movies that I just love. Not for everyone, but exactly what I love.

Heat

finally got a chance to watch the whole thing, a masterpiece. Pacino, De Niro, Kilmer, Sizemore, Voight...don't think it ever gets better then that lol

And that gunfight was unreal, Michael Mann is an extremely underrated director, Collateral, Heat, Public Enemies was alright but the man can direct and gets great shots.

9.5/10

a little long imo, after the gunfight maybe 20 mins more to rap everything up but they had to go another hour. And i'm a bigger fan of Al Pacino than Robert De Niro but I really wanted De Niro to make it out at the end lol

Heat is probably in my top 10 movies of all time. I've watched it at least a dozen times.

^^ Love that movie so much.

My girlfriends are bringing over some surprise "girl movies" which feature actors from "that football show" (I think they mean Friday Night Lights) in them. It should be interesting. And eye-roll inducing.

Devil: 6/10. Not bad, had some usual M. Knight S stuff...kinda dark.
The Social Network: 8/10. Entertaining, awesome soundtrack.
Inception: 8/10. Took a bit to get into it but really picked up. Great music, very inventive story, going to need to watch it again to really understand everything.
Death Race: 8/10. Just a good action flick. Enough gore to keep me happy while not too much to totally turn off the wife

The town- 7.5/10
Not a bad movie, i dislike Ben Affleck but he wasn't bad in this movie. Jeremy Renner gives another good performance.

Devil- 6/10
I'm reluctant to watch M. Knight's movies but my GF wanted to see this. Better then i expected, but nothing spectacular. Interesting concept, more could have been done with it.

Watched Book of Eli last night. I like those kinds of flicks, but bleh. The Bible and shit.

Also, Winnebago Man. Quite touching.

Saw Scott Pilgrim.

It was cute, really fun... I like watching movies that were filmed in Toronto, and guessing which 'hood they're in for each scene. Although some of it was like a commercial for Honest Eds... which I'm ok with.

7/10

You should try and find Boulevard, starring Rae Dawn Chong and Lou Diamond Phillips. I know, with a cast like that...

It's pretty terrible but it was shot in and around Yonge and Dundas in 1993. It's a hoot.

2/10 as a movie, but 10/10 as a Toronto movie.

The Town - 7/10

Really average movie. I'm not going to spoil anything but the ending was just, absolutely ridiculous.

Ben Affleck didn't really hurt the movie so that was a plus.

Actually, Jon Hamm was the worst part. He'd do a Boston accent in some scenes and in others not. Also, Hamm's partner in the film seemed to have some story line in the movie with the main characters, it became slightly developed in one scene and never revisited. Really, it becomes forgotten. I remember thinking throughout the whole movie, when would it be revisited but never.

Good movie just to sit down and watch but none of this, it's the best movie of 2010 etc.
