Default Raptors Road Trip Mar 9 to 14

I've been throwing an idea around in my head for a while.

Go on the road with the Raptors!!!

March 2010

Tue 09 @ LA Lakers 10:30pm
Wed 10 @ Sacramento 10:00pm
Sat 13 @ Golden State 10:30pm
Sun 14 @ Portland 9:00pm

First the flight from Buffalo to Sacramento on Monday Mar 8.

Travelocity.ca Round trip: $350ish (I'd switch my return to Portland...wont affect the price much)

Car rental : $225

Hotels: $40 a night (Priceline) 5 nights $200

My guess is the scalpers would be tickled to sell their single seats to the crappy Raptor games on weeknights. I'm guessing $50 a game tops. $200

Add it up: $975 (taxes etc included) !!!

Cool factor: Priceless.

Note that I have used these online services many times for trips to Orlando. They are legit and very trustworthy.

I am very fortunate that my busy summer season frees up the winter. And I can still run Raptorman from afar.

Someone talk to me out of doing this or talk me into it!!

The only thing holding me back is it would be cool to do it with someone. GF cant get the time off work. No one else I know can get that time or they are taking time the following weeks for their kids March Break.

I've gone on trips by myself before and it was fine.

Do I want to show up in Staples Center with my CB4 jersey by myself?

Great idea but I hear ya. I went on vacation by myself once before in life. However; I went to hook up with people on the way. In that respect I don't mind it however I don't think I'd do a vacation going completely solo.

Really, it doesnt. The only problem I have with it is security. If I am going to these games, I wanna wear my Raptors Red and make an ass out of myself every time they score.

Not sure how smart that is on the west coast.

Oh - i can't see security being a problem. I mean as long as you don't egg people on or anything. I'm sure if you rep your Raptors gear and cheer them on, but don't get in any other fans' faces or anything, then you'll be fine. In fact, i gather people will talk to you and if they hear how far you travelled, they'd respect that.

Besides, i don't think you'll be the only raptor fan in the arenas.

Traveling alone on this kind of trip would suck....Backpacking on your own is fine because you meet people and you don't really have many firm commitments...So you stay around as long as you want.

Having traveled on my own with business a number of times, I'll tell you, it's awful

The hospital network is sending me and a couple of other doctors and nurses to Salt Lake City for a conference in 1.5 months ... we are definitely going to a Jazz game but are considering wearing our Raptors jerseys just for the heck if it.
