calling a dude that is older than you by a decade or more 'son' is pretty, well, 'wack', in the parlance of our times.

14 year old calling me son

i don't care if it's raw, it looks stupid. i can only imagine the thinking process that went thru that video 'lets look really really tough guys! grab your fathers hunting jackets and your mother's handkerchiefs!'

Personally.

I am saddened when I see and hear most of what has passed for "hip hop" since the late 90's.

There's great shit out there, but it's getting swamped by comeplete shit.

"Come on why should dodge you n*ggas when my goons got goons that'll job you n*ggas"

"Don't be mad cause the named me the one, and hitting clubs is like porno's now cause they pay me to come/cum"

Cause some of them grow up around the things they talk about, and were raised in thinking that it's "cool".

We've been subjected to pop rap for the last 10 years....

Luckily hip-hop is coming back...

People like Slick Rick, KRS ONE, Rakim...all coming out with material soon. They're just waiting for this decade long phase of bullshit to end.

MF Doom is one of the best out there...

That guy is revered and respected by many of the greatest in hip hop...Definitely one of the most unique/creative around.

I don't think it's cool, but I won't lie to you say I don't listen to that kinda rap.
I've just been raised on this type of music. Everyone from cousins, to friends listen to it so I'm always around it.

But that doesn't mean I'm strictly gangsta rap, I prefer to listen to R&B (Usher, Jackie Boyz, I.Y.A.Z, and Avant) just to name a few.

This is embarrassing, and probably the furthest thing from "raw" you can get. These are the goofs who made that "Real Toronto" documentary and turned out to be complete poseurs.

But let's just chill and get back to loving hip-hop...

I don't know why everyone want's to be "hood" like New York projects.
I bet you 99.99% of the people in American projects, all wanna get out, no one want's to live in the ghetto, but the 0.01% who do happen to like the "hood" tend to be the likes of 50 cent (the list can go on forever),who glorify it.

A nobody hear's the 99.99% cause no one gives a rat ass about them. That 0.01% are the rappers we see all the time on T.V so who has more "appeal"?

Don't get me wrong I listen to some gangsta rap, but I know 70% of it is all lies, I don't listen to it and go "Damn, man I need some 9's and 10's". I just listen to it for wordplay and rhyme schemes.

Which is why I'm listen to Drake,Kayne, Lupe, heck even Lil Wayne has some amazing similes. I listen to Lupe when I want something intelligent, when I want something dumbed down and all flow, and punchlines and similes I kick back to Lil Wayne, Drake, Kayne, Fabolous and many more.
