That same week my wife an i also got to see Sabzi do his thing with Geologic, the other half of the Scholars an it was wicked, didnt last as long as the DJ set but man what a show. Most people just knew 50K deep, but the chorus was intense, everybody singing "50 thousand deep and it sound like thunder when our feet pound the street"
I'm definitely jealous. I've heard Sabzi is legendary live, that's awesome man.

I've never considered 2nd round knockout to be a GREAT diss track, just because LL managed to stick around and maintain his following. So no, it wasn't overly one-sided.

I really like the furious five's "The message". And not only for the the title track which i would think is one of the best songs to come out of all music. The other tracks are stellar as well. Scorpio, it's nasty, she's fresh... and then you hear the two awesome songs that are "dreamin'" and "you are" - it's pretty cool finding that shit on the same album.

It's my fave hiphop album.

Binary Star and One Be Lo are beyond dope. Have you listened to S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M.?
One Be Lo rips his verse on "Reality Check".. KGB, Wolfman Jack are some of my favourites from Masters of the Universe.

Some brillant beats and lyrics, best song by far is 50K deep, about the riot in Seattle a few years back.
Another quality band is Cunninlyngist, best album 'A piece of strange', truly excellent listening. 'Blazing arrow' by Blackalicious is also superb, infact just about anything you can get your hands on related to Quannum records/ projects is guaranteed to be top notch, usually with DJ shadow or Cut chemist doing the spinning.
Excellent recommendations.

Who do you think is the better producer: Kno (from Cunninlynguists) or Sabzi?

I downloaded One Be Lo's discography a month ago and have since been pumping it as close to 24/7 as you can get. My favourite tracks off of Masters of the Universe have to be the album track, Conquistadors and Fellowship. The whole album is insanely dope though.

And mad respect for the Nujabes avi. Nujabes material is the only music I can listen to while studying and still manage to be productive.

Thats such a tough call to make, since i saw Sabzi live i would swing in his direction but Kno does an amazing job, they are both super tight. I think just for the first few tracks on a piece of strange it could be Kno but then again i love 50K deep.

Is Project F.E.T.U.S. by One Be Lo any good? I have been meaning to check it out for some time, but haven't gotten around to it..

Nujabes is one of my favourite producers, I'm surprised you've heard of him. I don't think I've meet a person who has listened to Nujabes and hasn't liked him, he's that good. Hopefully he comes out with an official album, been a while since he's released one.

I'd give the slight edge to Kno.

Both Kno and Sabzi are really consistent with their production.

Just downloaded that EP a little more than a week ago, can't get enough of Gun Harmonizing. Royce is one of the most underrated MCs out there right now.
