Home now...all kinds of blood work, injections and blood thinners
Was told i have to go back to emerg every 12 hrs to get additional injections...was told that's because of my size (thanks a lot gym lol)

Looking into having homecare come here to show me how to inject myself...needles go into belly
Basically need to take it easy for a few days then go back to my regular routine..just have to be cautious about shortness of breathe or any developing chest pains over the next few weeks

From here i get regular blood work done from my family Doctor...for the rest of my life

Damn it sucks getting old

too bad dude, but seems like you have it under control. Sending positive vibes your way.

I took my kid earlier today to the doctors to get her first sutures. Well suture (only 1) - she hit the back of her head on the coffee table while jumping on the couch. That'll teach her.

She took it pretty well too. cried a fair bit, but put on a brave face and gave it her all. I was impressed.
side note: Does local anesthetic do anything at all? I remember when i cut my head open a number of years back i got some 15 stithces and they hurt a TON even after i had the local anesthetic. same thing with my daughter. She found the suture more painfull than getting the multiple shots of anesthetic.

Couple years back I put a chef Knife trough my finger (got in through the front and out through the side after hitting the bone). I was bleeding like crazy, doc said that I'm really lucky that I can still move it. Anyway the pain wasn't all that bad (because I was still in shock I guess), but the moment they started stitching it I almost pissed my pants!

I want to build a gear clock (don't know why, but I just feel like it) I found a lot of designs for wooden clocks, but I would prefer a metal one. Obviously there would be much more work with it, and I don't really have tools to cut the metal. :shaq:
I'm thinking something like this one:

Getting a 4th monitor from my mother tomorrow o.O. In one room I'll now have 4 monitors and 2 55+ inch TVs... I think this is getting to be a bit much... Also 2 of the monitors are touch screens.

Shadowfax, you have a great outlook man. Sorry to hear about the clot.

In regards to local anesthetic, I think it works well. When I had hand surgery in October they gave it to me and I didn't feel much until 18 hours after the surgery and after that it was really, really mild pain. Could have been much worse.

something i've meant to bring up for a while now, but it always slipped my mind.

You know when you ask for cash back on debit at a store and the cashier "forgets" to give you your money, and you have to remind him/her?.... well how often do you think they're being honest and it genuinely slipped their mind?

I find more than half the time i get cash back on debit, the cashier does this and i am positive they do it so they can pocket the cash at the end of their shift.

I never get cash back if possible. I have done it a couple times at the grocery store but it's been at the self checkout and i don't have to go to the cashier. But yeah, i wouldn't doubt that at least some of them try to pocket the money, i don't trust people i swear.

i've got into the habit of only using cash back as my source of pocket money. I can't remember the last time i used a bank machine to tell the truth.

It's just so conveniant. If i go to a loblaws or whatever, i am already paying with debit so i may as well take out some cash for X # of days. Of course i always call the cashier on it and i have never had anyone try anything suspicious (like say they already gave it to me or some other lie), but still i can't help but notice that it seems to happen all the time now.

Yeah, i still prefer to just go to the bank machine usually. Two quick questions, is there an extra fee for getting cash back and secondly if you get cash back you choose the option while punching in your debit information so unless the cashier looks at the receipt how do they know you asked for cash back?

I have never had to remind the cashier for my cash back, they always give me the money with my receipt.

Then again, I don't use cash back nearly as frequently as you do.
