I'm wondering when the day comes that Pzabby will stop bitching and complaining about everything in life.

You can't comment on the supposed best 4 years of your life considering you've only spent 1.5 of those years thus far. Ry-high has a double meaning which you only know half of it. Plus since Ryerson is still in a transition period it's better to aid in said transition and be involved as opposed to just being another part of an older/established institution.

Such a parallel in how you view things regarding the Raps and Spurs compared to RU.

Why would I close off Ryerson because some kid said that it's socially inept?

Just go join a frat then.

Anyone have advice for having terrible housemates?

I live with three of my friends (although since moving in our friendship has definitely taken a hit). Now, not all of my housemates are bad, but one is especially, and too a lesser degree, another one due to how messy he is.

I clean my dishes after every single meal I have, and when my girlfriend eats over I make sure both of ours are done. If I host a party I pick up the bottles, sweep/mop (if need be), and lysol wipe down the tables. I refrain from loud music if I think my roommates are sleeping and always ask if I plan on having people in drinking.

My really terrible roommate never does his dishes, no matter how many times you ask (he gets extremely defensive when you ask, and my other roommates won't get involved), after a party his definition of cleaning is putting the beer bottles into boxes IN the living room and leaving them there, that's it. If I'm not at the party I don't want to have to clean up his shit. I am in the middle of finals week atm and yesterday I found out via facebook he was having a party at our house, which is bullshit since he never asked us if it was alright. I confronted him and he said next time he will ask us, but this time I would have to sleep at my girlfriends. There was nothing I could do here as multiple of my friends would be attending the party so I'd look like a real prick if I cancelled it. I've also had to ask him many times to refrain from smoking weed in the living room as our landlord sometimes stops by and we could end up evicted. I'm straight up fed up with his bullshit, and am not sure what to do as I still have another 4 months on the friggin lease. We used to be quite good friends before he started hanging out with some losers and began turning into an asshole, and now that we live together I can honestly say I strongly dislike him, there is absolutely no friendship left.

Any advice?

I've been there, i lived with three friends in Ottawa in a house and two were messy, like disgustingly messy. Me and the other guy who actually gave a shit what the place looked like called a house meeting and essentially we told the other two they had to pull their own weight and after a brief argument they pretty much agreed that we all shared the place and had guests over all the time and that needed to be respected.

We all agreed to clean our own dishes when done eating and made a cleaning schedule. To clean a house with 4 people involved shouldn't be an issue.

Now i have to admit, it lasted for a while but it eventually went back to the same bullshit and after a year i moved out and got an apartment with the two woman from next door that were looking to move as well. One of those women wasn't much better and i eventually got my own place. lol

Ultimately, living with housemates sucks unless you know the people and their cleaning habbits.

They are both pretty okay with living in a pigsty basically

So it sucks and calling a housemeeting means I am the only one doing the talking.

Just had a housemeeting. I was the only one talking and everybody basically just said okay to whatever I said about doing your own dishes and cleaning up after a party. I feel totally alienated in the house though, it really blows.

Yeah, if it's just you nobody will listen. You have to have somebody with you that insists on cleaning. I expect that if they did agree to start cleaning up after themselves, it wouldn't last unfortunately.

I woke up one day and found that my friend had been doing batting practice with shredded wheat. And that was just the tip of the iceberg. It's tough being a serious student and living with friends, or just about anyone for that matter. It's better to keep the friendship and find another place asap, than trying to change the friends and losing them as friends in the process.

I agree LX, trouble is I have four months on the least still. I'm in my fourth year of engineering, and very serious about my schooling, whereas NONE of my roommates are. The sad thing is I feel like our friendships are already so changed by this that they might be finished.

And ya, jeff, I suspect this to be a week long cleaning phase, and then it will resort to normal.

I've lived with plenty of people before, and never had a problem like this before. It's frustrating

Damn that sucks. I am like you man, I hate when the house is a mess or if there are dishes in he sink just chilling there. I clean mine right after I use them. I live with two others, one of my friends doesn't clean his dishes often but usually gets to them every 2 ish days so it's not too bad. Hopefully it all works out

I have more advice to ask. I'm flying out to BC in May to do a 2-3 week cross NA road trip with my best friend back to Newfoundland with the goal of hitting up as many national parks/cool climbing spots as possible. We're aiming to definitely hit up Yosemite in Cali and Zion in Utah, but are trying to pick which states to visit on the way back.

Any ideas?

Just simply take their dirty crap and repeatedly shove it into their rooms until they get fed up enough about it.
If they're happy living like that, well it's out of the common areas.

It was my cheapest option close to school (still a 20 minute walk, but that's not too bad)
