Any of you have experience/knowledge about shipping something to states? I sold a cellphone on ebay for 400+ bucks. But I remember hearing somewhere that if item is over 200 dollars, duty fees can apply (and they are high). Should I mark the cellphones value less than 200? But in that case i would be running a risk if the cellphone goes missing in the process. Should I let buyer to worry about duty fees?

Mark the cellphone as a value less than 20 and as a gift to avoid customs, ship with tracking and priority to avoid losing it.

yeah. Honestly it doesn't matter about the value you mark it as so you'd rather mark it low enough to avoid all costs. Who's to say your gift is worth less than what you marked down?

The only time people actually mark it their actual price is if you buy it from a licensed seller.

As long as you get nice shipping, you'll be fine from marking it as a gift less than 20 or 30.

they lied to me about the position. and it was an under the table paid gig. I don't fuck with that. Oh, and no tip out. Only decent part of it was food prep.

ah I see. Fair enough. Keep trying man, there are plenty of beginner-level jobs out there ie. cashier, grocery shelve stockers etc.

when you buy something internationally, it clearly says duty fees are the buyers responsibility, you are not responsible for it.

Making it a gift is i dont think illegal but things can go wrong that i am not sure of. Everyone would do it and write the value under $20 if it was that easy

... and everyone who's smart does it. There are no repercussions.
