My parents make too much for me to get osap, and since they don't look at debt, I had to get a line of credit where I have to pay interest every month. The point is, if you really want to get a job and work, you can do it. I worked for the first time during school this past semester, worked every friday and saturday night, and whenever they asked if i could fill in. It was a pizza shop. Sure I couldnt go out and party, but I need to get my loan down as much as I can. Last year I couldnt land a full time job, so I worked two part time jobs. Days/evenings at Costco, and Nights at FedEx loading trucks (most physically demanding job I have ever done).

Dude, If you really want to get something, you just need to apply everywhere, and kill the interview when you eventually get one. I believe someone posted a bunch of law position for the summer, did you end up applying for those? Even if it isnt a job with a firm, or something in your field, you can always relate that job to what you want to do. Example: How you worked with others and what not. You can make around 4 grand in this summer, and that can really help lower your debt.

If you want, post the city you live in, If I am not mistaken it is toronto, but correct me if I am wrong, and i will help you find a few jobs you can apply for. Also if you have a car to commute with.

do you know where China Garden is? on derry and airport road? there is a FedEx ground there. I worked there last year, they pay around 14 bucks an hour starting, or after the first month. So the pay is pretty decent, try applying there, because they are always hiring

hey guys, I have a question and would appreciate any help I can get.

I just got a full time summer job, pay 16 bucks an hour for 37.5 hours a week. It goes till the end of august and the pay is by-weekly. How much will I get taxed during my paychecks? I am a full time student, will be returning to school in the fall for third year. I think that is all the information you need, let me know if there is anything else

Whatever you get taxed you should get back in a refund once you file your taxes, as far as I know.

I got so fucked up yesterday. From 12am to 5:30am I can't remember what I happened. All I remember is that my sis was calling me at 5:30am and I was walking around in downtown by myself.

I didn't apply to the law position bill posted because it was full time and I have class during the day mondays and wednesdays. otherwise I would have. I have been looking at kijiji, and I have had some interviews, but no luck as of yet. I appreciate you doing that but you really dont need to. I do live in toronto though.

At any point prior to 12, do you remember seeing a guy who looked like Alan from the movie the Hangover?

Anything under 10k income in a calendar year technically isn't taxable. Having said that it is entirely likely your employer will deduct tax from your pay cheque anyway. In that case you have two choices - either continue having tax deducted from your paycheque and get a big tax refund when you file your tax return next year, or ask your employer not to deduct tax from your paycheque. Effectively the same result, it's just a matter of the timing of the cash.

Just as an aside, did you claim tuition credits for your first two years of university?

oh alright, hmm I made less than 10 grand in 2012, but apparently I am only getting a 100 something dollars back :S When my parents were doing the taxes for this year, or the person who did it for us, they put in my tuition fees.

it isnt a big deal really, just glad to help you out. Hmm kijiji isnt always that useful, try looking at actual websites that are dedicated towards jobs like indeed and workopolis. Also apply to the canadian tires and grocery stores near your area. You are bound to get something, and they will be flexible with you having school
