they put more movies to get interest so people will watch
usually 4 of the 5 movies are ones people haven't seen and Up, District 9, Blind Side, Inglorious, Avatar were all popular movies

They're saying Avatar is the front runner for best picture which is whacko. It was extremely sick and cool as fuck but was it a "great" movie? Meh...

Aside from Avatar it has to be between Inglorious Basterds and the Hurt Locker. Even the lesser known movies they listed aren't that great.

It shouldn't win. It was a brilliant movie in its own right but it was filled with cheesy lines and cliché story advancements.

These are the movies that i have seen out of the list:
Avatar
District 9
The Hurt Locker
Inglourious Basterds
Up
Up in the Air
Blind side

the one that should win IMO is the hurt locker, that movie was just awesome....district 9 close second for me...

I enjoyed Inglorious Basterds the most, but I think the Hurt Locker should win it because I think it was the best overall. Up in the Air was surprisingly good too but really isnt an Oscar caliber movie.

500 days of summer should also be on there. I usually dont like those kinds of movies but it was very good.

Inglorious Basterds deserves it imo, haven't seen the Hurt Locker yet so I cannot comment on it, gotta buy the blu ray

Avatar was good but doesn't deserve the best picture, I had a hell of a time watching it in 3D but like other said, it's not a masterpiece.

Seen District 9, a quality movie also, but I'd pick Inglorious Basterds over it

Avatar will demolish the compitition in the technology awards, but storyline, no.

it's no Lord of the Rings

I think Return of the King was the only movie in the series to win Best Picture, the earlier two only dominated in the technical part.

Maybe Avatar 3 will get it done

Avatar has a stolen idea, but for the special effect it can have an Oscar. My Top favorite is District 9.It's like Avatar+Original Story.
