No thread about chris brown beating rihanna??

wow....

What makes Sunday night’s arrest of singer Chris Brown over a reported domestic dispute in Los Angeles so strange is that the 19-year-old singer is known for his wild dance moves, not a wild lifestyle.

Brown, who was released on $50,000 bail late last night, has previously had a squeaky-clean image, both in his music – best known for tame, lovey-dovey hits like “Kiss Kiss” and “No Air” – and in his personal life, which has mainly been his relationship with 20-year-old singer Rihanna. (Though the Los Angeles Times is reporting that the charge of making felony threats stems from an incident early Sunday morning involving Rihanna, neither the Los Angeles Police Department, nor Rihanna’s spokespeople have confirmed that it does. Police do say in a statement that additional charges may be filed.)

Since his debut in 2005, Brown has built his reputation as a teen phenom in the Michael Jackson vein, making sure strong choreography accompanies his sugary pop hits. He gained attention at the MTV Video Music Awards for leaping from table to table during his performance and for writing his recent hit “Forever” as a reworking of a jingle for Wrigley’s Doublemint Gum, which has been using the song in its recent ad campaign.

His hit duet “No Air,” with Jordin Sparks, was nominated for a Grammy last night, but did not win. Both Brown and Rihanna were scheduled to perform at last night’s ceremonies but abruptly canceled, pressing Al Green and Justin Timberlake into service, performing “Let’s Stay Together” with Boyz II Men and Keith Urban to fill their performance slots.

Brown and Rihanna have been linked for more than a year, though they have been reluctant to discuss their relationship. Early on, Brown reworked Rihanna’s hit “Umbrella” into “Cinderella.”

On Brown’s website, his fans are taking a wait-and-see attitude before making their judgment. On Rihanna’s site, though, some have already made up their minds. “Send the right message to your fans to leave any boy who would hit you,” one poster tells Rihanna. “He does not deserve you. I will never buy another of his CDs regardless.”

UPDATE: Wrigley announced that it was suspending the campaign after "the serious allegations made against Chris Brown."

Friggin brutal... one of the officers says her bruises look like an MMA fighter's... "devil horns" contusions on each side of her face...

And here's the fucked up part... bite marks. Chris Brown is officially a biatch.

Has there ever been a celebrity who hit it big at 16-18 and not gotten into shit? Chris Brown is done. He'll never live this down

Torontosaurus 02-10-2009 12:47 AM

I'm not a huge fan of his but I thought his music was ok. His career is fucked. But who knows? Kobe was able to maintain his rep even though everyone thought he was guilty.

Windex 02-10-2009 01:53 AM

is it true? I knew something happened to both of 'em but I didn't want to jump to conclusions.

lonewolfpoet 02-10-2009 02:17 AM

What is it with these asswholes? What kind of message are they trying to send to their fans, that's it's okay to beat up on ladies? I think any douche bag that does that is a coward and a bully and less than a man and sure in heck doesn't deserve to have a woman.

Febreezy 02-10-2009 08:15 AM

I was shocked I'm a big fan of his music, not so much him.

Claudius 02-10-2009 08:50 AM

I didn't know who this was :face4:

Either way it's despicable act and it happens when egos this large are met with confrontation. Horrible.

Yup, his career is OVAH .... he better hire some extra security too because this dude is a marked man from here on out in the music & entertainment industry.

Acie 02-10-2009 09:37 AM

I wouldn't say his career is over.

In this day and age it seems as though everyone gets a second and sometimes even a third chance or fourth chance.

XiaominWu 02-10-2009 09:56 AM

Aren't there thousands of women being beaten far worse than this every day?.....

It always make me angry when "star" transgressions are treated as more important than anyone else's.

INSIDER 02-10-2009 09:57 AM

he's in a load of crap thats for sure.
his squeeky clean - nice guy/badboy - image is finished.
he would play that sweet/badboy/romeo type and it would rack in the money for him... now he's a deadbeat abuser. and beating up on the current music biz queen (rihanna) - thats makes it even worse.

he'll get outta the limelight for a few months, then come back all apologetic and sad, then he'll put out some sappy love songs and everyone will forget.
thats how hollywood works.

logicz 02-10-2009 10:14 AM

LOL! ... goodbye career ..

Ugo Ferst 02-10-2009 10:17 AM

ppl said that about R. Kelly, fact is, if you are really talented and good looking, you can resurrect your career after some time outta the spotlight, i think Chris will, i dont like his music but alot of ppl do.

Claudius, surprised you never heard of him, he is basically a young Micheal Jackson kinda singer, good voice, can dance and girls love him.... pop idol or w/e

The rumors are swirling that the reason he hit her was she gave him herpes which is contracted from "a very famous rapper" which some speculate to be Jay Z..... who knows, im sure it will all come out in the next year or so.

NaturallyStoned 02-10-2009 11:29 AM

Interesting. Doesn't in any way excuse the beating but still, if she does have herpes she shoulda told him.

Ugo Ferst 02-10-2009 11:34 AM

Imagine the amount of celebs with herpes, i bet it's staggering, here is just the Derek Jeter list (hahahaha dude spread herpes around like it's the gospel!!)...

Our Book of Scrap: Sports News: The Derek Jeter Herpes Tree

By his works alone, we are all doomed!!! hahahahahahaha

INSIDER 02-10-2009 11:35 AM

i think you are confusing herpes with genital warts, but yea, either way, POW to the kisser. Im not for hitting women, but honestly, i much rather be popped in the face by Fedor himself, then catch one of these STDs, if true, what she did is more criminal imo
