Default My Cat

RIP to my cat

Today I had to put down my first cat..It's quite a depressing thing to do, probably won't get another animal for a while.

R.I.P Allie

That sucks. I almost had to do the same a couple years ago to one of my cats. Ended up spending a lot of money to save him, didn't want to let him go since he was only 2yrs old. How old was Allie?

7 or 8..Diabetic, and it was getting worse. Vet said it would be the best thing to stop her from suffering.

yeah, it's just weird putting an animal down, I kind of feel bad. I didn't think it would be so depressing either, anyone ever have to put an animal down?

No, but a friend of mine had to put a dog down 4-5yrs ago, he then got another dog and it had major health problems and he had to put him down as well. He hasn't got another dog since and isn't planning on getting one anytime soon. He said it was tough.

Yeah, animals just grow on you and when you have to let them go it's hard...I'll miss watching basketball games and having the little bugger bothering me to pet her lol.

Its a lot tougher then you think it will be.

Like you said in a post below they grow on you so much and are just part of the family.

Sorry to hear that. I tell my dog everyday that she has to live forever, or there will be hell to pay.

Diabetes seems to be more and more common in pets.

I had to have one of my cats put down last year. He was diabetic too.

Try and remember that this one sad moment is a small price to pay for the years of happy times you had with her.

I've had 5 dogs and 1 cat throughout my entire life and it's always tough having to let go. Sorry to hear about your cat.

That sucks, duca.

I adopted a cat who was 10 years old and grossly overweight. We found out later that he was diabetic. 8 years of twice-a-day injections..... but he was the best pet ever. He started to slow down and we took him to the vet, who found a baseball-sized tumor..... said he would have anywhere from 3-9 months left. By the next day, he couldn't walk anymore, so we had to put him down. By far the saddest week of my life.

Condolences. One of the biggest injustices in life is you outlive your pets.

I've had multiple cats in my life and it's never easy to lose them. Last one lived to 20. She was awesome.

Currently have 4 cats and a dog. They are the best.

That's sad. I wanted to keep her alive, but she had gotten a bladder infection which messed her up worth, and we really couldn't afford the needles. It make it harder then anything knowing that she could have lived a little longer.
