It's funny you mention Zeppelin because 90% of their first two albums are jacked from blues musicians. ;)

It is Werewolves of London by Zevon...then it kicks into Sweet Home...when he mentions the song. And its done in Homage....so I dont have a problem with it.

Please dont put Kid Rock and Led Zeppelin in the same sentence. lol

They did rip off blues song constantly, but the question is who didnt in the 60s.

The Beatles and the stones basically plagiarized Chuck Berry in many songs.

But its Zepplin, not Kid Fucking Rock.

Kid Rock also sampled Sad but Drue for American Badass.

Any musician can be said to have borrowed/ sampled music, I have no problem with musicians sampling music, but I do have a problem with that music sucking it hard as is the case with Kid Rock.

ha, you wish!! ;)

As much as I love them, they took a lot from early sycodelic rock like Iron Butterfly, Cream, etc...

I'm not big on musicians sampling other musician's, but one of my favourites still to this day is "Can I Kick It" by Tribe Called Quest where they sampled Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side" . Grrrrreat tune. :dancing:

I know.......

but I like to think that they single handedly revolutionized music.

well they did, along with Zep, Purple and Floyd. But all of them did take a lot from other bands. Specially from the Beatles.:police:

Snooch 07-30-2008 10:45 AM

Beatles was a huge influence to Sabbath

Claudius 07-30-2008 10:45 AM

Is it wrong that I think that the Beatles are the most overrated band in the history of music?

No, but if you grew up in the 60's you would think the hype is real.

I'm with you CG. Don't get me wrong, because I like most of their music but if I had to choose between the Stones and the Beatles ... I'd go with the Stones every time. Just my preference though. :)

If I had to choose between the Stones and the Beatles I woud just shoot myself...I truely despise everything Stones and I dont really care for the Beatles...

Cant say they arent hugely influential groups and made massive amounts of money but I cant stand them

Belsius 07-30-2008 11:05 AM

Im leaving raptors forum.....lol

I have actually always though that the Stones are overrated.

They are great but too repetetive for me.

The Beatles did so many things so well. No band ever has composed as well as them.

They have their share of bad songs too though.
