you guys really want to talk about all-time greatest bassits, vocalists, etc... try these on for size:

bass - charles mingus. undoubtedly the greatest ever. no one can touch him. style, techinical prowess, and a master composer as well. my man chas, the greatest of all time.

vocals - can we really talk about anyone besides ella fitzgerald (and maybe louis armstrong)? really? tell me she doesn't want to make you cry? or jump for joy? you can feel the world in that voice, and we haven't even mentioned techique yet. ella.

don't even get me started on guitarists...

just cause i dont listyhen to the beatles and dont give a flying fuck about music u consider good music dont mean i dont appreciate it when i here....soo if i say wutang is one of the greatest groups of all time then if that makes me a douche bag then i geuss i am one...

ur taste it tainted

Then you should like Cool and the Gang or Grand Master Flash because they are the artists that inspired Wutang Clan.

If Wutang is still influencing people in 20 years time then you can say that they are one of the greatest, for now they are you favorite.

I love Hip Hop....the Wutang Clan was hardly revolutionary. Which is why I didn't mention RUNDMC.

All opinions are valid...except when you are wrong....and in this case you are way off the mark...how do I know???...I'm always right.

I'm sorry, but Wutang might be popular, but they certainly didn't revolutionize hip-hop. Kurtis Blow, Marley Marl, Afrika Bambaataa helped make hip-hop what it is today. Then guys like LL Cool J, Stetasonic, EPMD, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys and Eric B & Rakim put it on the map. Wutang if anything made hip-hop more thug-like. They certainly didn't revolutionized it.

John Entwistle from The Who would have to be considered one of the greatest too.

Love Hendrix but alot of his coolness was the result of distorting the sound, I dont know if he could make a guitar sound as beautiful as Adrian Legg without the Feedback.

Anyone who thinks the Beatles are overrated is wrong.

They single-handedly revolutionized not only music, but what people wore, how people thought...

Nowadays a band puts out one good album and then rides on it for the rest of their career. In three years (1966 to 1969) they put out Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, The White Album and Abbey Road. Most artists would give their left nut to put out even one album that good.

However at they beginning they did cover their fare share of Motown songs/Early American rock tunes and standards.

its a matter of opinion I guess, but IMO pastorious creativity had no match, his technique and use of harmonics are the best too IMO. Mingus was obviously great too. Then again one played bass and the other one Double bass so its dificult to compare them.
